Update 10/31/21: Most other Chase cards have now been added for this 5x/5% benefit on Lyft through March 31, 2022. Most of them have a $5,000 limit whereas the original Sapphire and Freedom cards (which have had this offer for more than a year) don’t have a limit. You can check your card at this link to see if it has the benefit.
Original Post 1/8/2020:
Lyft has announced that beginning January 12, 2020, many Chase cards will receive either 5x or 10x on all Lyft spend.
Direct Link to offer
- Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Freedom, Freedom Unlimited, Freedom Student and Ink cardmembers will receive 5x total Ultimate Rewards points or 5% cash back on Lyft rides.
- Chase Sapphire Reserve cardmembers will earn 10x total points on Lyft rides. Plus, each account will get one free year of Lyft Pink.
These bonus rates will continue through March 2022. The wording indicates that the 5x is NOT in addition to regular rewards, it’s 5x/10x total. It also indicates that the Lyft Pink membership for Sapphire Reserve cardholders is a one-year benefit, not an ongoing benefit.
Benefits by card:
Chase Sapphire Reserve:
-
10x total points on Lyft Rides
-
1 year of complimentary Lyft Pink membership per account (business profile is not eligible)
Chase Sapphire Preferred, Sapphire, Ink Preferred, and Ink Plus:
-
5x total points on Lyft Rides
Chase Freedom, Student, and Unlimited:
-
5% total cash back on Lyft rides
Chase Ink, Cash, Business, and Unlimited:
-
5% total cash back on Lyft rides
Chase also introduced a new Doordash benefit on the Reserve and other cards. We reported yesterday on all of the upcoming changes to the Sapphire Reserve which includes the fee increase from $450 to $550 and these Lyft and Doordash benefits.
