Our Verdict
This definitely makes the card more compelling as an entry level no-fee card. The online category can be interesting to spruce up your earnings if you typically earn just 2% for your online purchases. Gas at 3% isn’t bad, but you might already have another card that earns that amount or more.
The statement credits are interesting for a no-fee card. Some of us already get Disney for free with the Amex Platinum card, and there might be other signup deals for that service. Honestly, though, this is an impressive benefit which will be worth a full $84/year for many people who are paying for that bundle regardless.
I’ve never used Home Chef, and there’s probably no way to order $15 of food. Still, this credit is worth good money to someone who uses Home Chef anyway. Even if not, it can make for interesting stack for when Swagbucks or other intro offers arise.
The Disney benefit is available on the Blue Cash Preferred card as well. Enrollment required.
American Express has also removed today the minimum redemption limit on the Blue Cash Preferred and Everyday cards.
The American Express Blue Cash Everyday card currently has a $250 signup bonus or up to $350 with the Resy link. And the Blue Cash Preferred card comes with a $400 signup bonus.
