Capital One has announced that as of July 16, 2024 it’s no longer accepting new applications for the Capital One Savor card. Existing cardholders will keep their cards. It’s unclear why Capital One has made this changed but they did say it was based on listening to their customers so I assume uptake of the card was lower than expected.

Best offer in the past was 100,000 points. That offer was more flexible as it didn’t have the $250 travel credit but had a slightly higher minimum spend requirement at $5,000. Still worth considering/doing for most people as I’m not sure if/when we will ever see that 100,000 point offer again. Read these things everybody should know about Capital One cards. Update 7/15/24: Letters have gone out informing cardholders will be converted to the Capital One Quicksilver (not sure if some cardholders are being offered other cards). We still don’t know who will issue the new Walmart card.
Capital One & Walmart have announced that their cobranded credit card partnership is ending. Capital One & Walmart launched two cards in 2019 and then Walmart sued Capital One in 2023 to exit the partnership, a judge ruled that Walmart could end the partnership early due to repeated customer service failures by Capital One.
Based on the statement released by both companies existing Capital One Walmart cardholders will be able to continue to use their cards and will eventually be product changed to another Capital One product. This means that whoever is going to be the new issuer of Walmart credit cards has not purchased the back book from Capital One (or Capital One didn’t want to sell it). So far no word on who will issue a new Walmart credit card.

This is the highest bonus we’ve seen on this card, previous high was 175,000 points. This new offer does have a higher minimum spend requirement though. A reminder that the personal version of this bonus is five free night certificates of up to 60,000 points per night. One advantage of Chase business cards is that they don’t count towards your 5/24 status. Before applying read these things everybody should know about Chase. Both bonuses are 10,000 points higher than when they launched. Free nights start at 6,000 points per night and go up to 35,000 points per night (properties in Australasia go up to 75,000 points). With Choice it’s always a good idea to have a redemption in mind before applying. Still worth it for some people as some good value can be had, will add this to our list of the best credit card bonuses.

Target updated their online checkout system to allow splitting your payment with two credit or debit cards.
Cool. Being able to split is always useful for optimizing credit card spend, e.g. finishing a quarterly category or other spend requirement, draining down a prepaid card, etc.
Split payment (credit/debit cards): Up to a total of two credit/debit tenders are accepted in one transaction.
Split payments are accepted with Target GiftCard in one transaction.
Split payments are not accepted with SNAP EBT.
