The Senate has voted to confirm Rep. Marcia Fudge, an Ohio Democrat, as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under the Biden administration. So reports Cox Media.
Fudge, a former mayor, becomes the the first Black woman to head up the department in four decades.
The Senate voted 66-34 to confirm the nomination, with support from Republicans including Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell.
