Jess Cagle, the former editor of People magazine, is saying so long to his SoCal spread.
Cagle purchased the property just three years ago for $2,195,000 and stands to score a nice profit if the posh place sells for its list price of $3,895,000.
The 3,125-square-foot home is a true midcentury modern classic, with four bedrooms and three baths on just over a quarter-acre. It’s also quite private, as it’s cloistered in a gated section of Palm Springs in historic Old Las Palmas.

Fans of architectural design will be thrilled by the home’s post-and-beam construction, as well as its clerestory windows—a long bank of glass that sits up high at the ceiling’s edge. There’s also a sunken living room and an attractive stone fireplace that separates this main space from the dining area.
The kitchen has been upgraded with a suite of Viking appliances and an island for prep and serving. Plus, there’s newly installed terrazzo tile underfoot.
An enormous primary bedroom comes with a lovely bath, accented with teal tile in the shower.
Outside, the lush yard and trees surround a gorgeous pool (a necessity for desert life), spacious patio, and grilling area. Future owners will enjoy mountain views, which are on full display from the rear of the home.
After 32 years in publishing, Cagle left the top job at People in 2019. Today, he hosts “The Jess Cagle Show” on SiriusXM Radio, where he’s been named the company’s chief entertainment anchor.
His podcast, “The Jess Cagle Podcast with Julia Cunningham,” features interviews with various hitmakers from the worlds of TV, music, and film.
