In the world of California real estate, the San Diego housing market stands out as an ever-evolving entity. A mesmerizing blend of sun-soaked beaches, cultural riches and the allure of a cosmopolitan life has catapulted the city’s housing scene into the limelight. And if you’re keen on understanding the intricate dance of supply, demand and pricing within this market, let’s set the stage.
The San Diego housing market
At the core of the San Diego housing market is its undeniable competitiveness. Homes here are highly coveted, and the stats tell the same story. On average, houses in this sunlit city receive a whopping six offers, only to be whisked off the market in a brisk 14 days. Compare that to last year’s 28 days, and it’s evident that the tempo of the San Diego housing market is only accelerating.
Price tags and more
Now, no discussion about the San Diego housing market is complete without touching on price. With the median home price settled at $894,250 in September 2023, there’s been a 6.5% ascent year-over-year.
The price per square foot? An impressive $683, up by 8.5% from the previous year. And here’s the showstopper: San Diego’s median sale price is an overwhelming 113% higher than the national average.
In this market, homes in San Diego, like the city’s famous sunsets, often outshine their list price. On average, they sell for about 1% above their stated value. And a staggering 50.1% of homes now sell above their asking price, up by 20.3 percentage points from last year.
Migration patterns
Between the gentle waves of the Pacific and the buzz of the San Diego housing market lies a tale of migration. From July to September 2023, while 29% of San Diego’s homebuyers contemplated new horizons outside the city, a sizable 71% remained within the city limits. And the allure isn’t just local. From the cinematic boulevards of Los Angeles to the tech hubs of San Francisco, many are heeding the siren call of the San Diego housing market.
Schools, lifestyle and more
San Diego is home to stellar educational institutions, with schools like La Jolla Elementary and Silver Strand Elementary setting an undeniably high standard. Plus, the city’s transit-friendly, bikeable and walkable neighborhoods ensure that every day runs smoothly.
Climate
Life isn’t all carefree on the coast, though. For San Diego, it’s the environmental concerns. A significant 55% of properties are at risk of wildfire damage over the next three decades. Additionally, 8% face potential flood risks and a considerable 88% could endure heat damage.
Buying a house in San Diego
The San Diego housing market isn’t just about homes, prices and trends — it’s about living your life to the fullest. Whether you’re a potential homebuyer or a curious observer, this competitive market may not be for everyone, but if you stay alert and keep searching, you’re sure to find the right home for you.
San Diego’s rental market at a glance
Delving deeper into the world of San Diego’s rental spaces, we find a distinct rhythm in the market. Amidst the backdrop of the city’s soaring home prices, the rental market presents an alternative, more affordable route.
Average rent in San Deigo
As of October 2023, studio apartments, with their cozy confines and efficient designs, come with an average price tag of $2,363, marking a 2% annual hike. For those seeking a bit more space without venturing into the full-blown family home category, one-bedroom apartments stand as a popular choice, averaging at $2,846 in rent – interestingly, witnessing a slight dip of 1% from the previous year. However, two-bedroom apartments have seen a 1% rise, commanding an average rent of $3,735.
Renting in San Diego
San Diego’s rental scene offers a broad spectrum of apartments and costs. On average, renters should anticipate shelling out anywhere between $2,363 to $3,735 in 2023, depending on their choice of apartment.
Apartments priced between $501 to $1,500 account for a minuscule portion of the market, with only 1% of apartments falling in the $1,001 to $1,500 range. On the other end of the scale, a significant 84% of San Diego’s apartments command a rent of $2,101 or more, painting a clear picture of the city’s upscale rental offerings.
Decoding San Diego’s rental scene
San Diego’s rental market, like its housing counterpart, strikes a chord of demand and quality. While the absence of apartments in the lower price ranges underlines the city’s upscale living standards, the dominant presence of higher-end apartments showcases San Diego’s commitment to quality and luxurious living.
For potential renters, the San Diego rental market offers a plethora of choices, each with a unique rhythm and pace, ensuring that every individual finds their perfect home in one of the city’s many living spaces.

As the autumn leaves fall and the air grows chill, the timeless allure of classic Halloween movies beckons us once again to the eerie and fantastical realms they depict.
Films like Beetlejuice, Hocus Pocus, The Addams Family, Sleepy Hollow, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Friday the 13th have become staples of the season, drawing us into worlds where the supernatural reigns and the eerie takes center stage.
Yet, beyond the talented actors, eerie plotlines, and haunting soundtracks, there is another essential element that breathes life into these cinematic masterpieces — the sets and interiors.
These iconic films transport us to a realm where witches, ghosts, monsters, and vampires coexist with the living, where the macabre meets the mundane. The interiors of these movies play a pivotal role in setting the stage, creating an ambiance that is both captivating and spine-tingling.
They are the canvas on which the artists behind the scenes — visionary movie directors, stellar production designers, and art directors — paint a rich tapestry of emotions, invoking a unique blend of awe and fear that leaves a lasting imprint on our psyche.
It’s no secret that the setting and backdrop for a movie are of paramount importance, but in the realm of fantasy and horror, this importance is magnified. A well-crafted set can serve as a character in its own right, immersing the audience in a carefully designed world where the surreal becomes reality.
The creaking floorboards, dimly lit corridors, and eerie artifacts scattered about these cinematic interiors hold the power to transport us to the very heart of the narrative, intensifying our connection to the story and its characters.
Reimagining the interiors of our favorite Halloween classics with the help of AI
These classic Halloween movies, some dating back decades, have become an annual tradition for many, a comforting yet spine-tingling journey back to a time when our greatest fear was the monster under our bed.
They’ve left an indelible mark on our hearts and imaginations, making us yearn for the feeling of nostalgia and suspense they offer. In a world that perpetually seeks the new and novel, there is a unique satisfaction in revisiting these timeless classics, like worn pages in a cherished book.
But, what if you could revisit these iconic movie interiors in a fresh, modern light? What if you could reimagine the Addams Family mansion in the 21st century or walk through the halls of Sleepy Hollow with a new perspective? Thanks to the wonders of artificial intelligence and computer-generated imagery, we can now explore these treasured movie settings as if they were born anew.
With a little help from the creative team over at Swift Direct Blinds, we’ll delve into the magic of AI-generated images that recreate the interiors of our favorite Halloween movies. These images provide a modern lens through which we can appreciate the artistry of the original sets while also marveling at the potential for reinterpretation.
By fusing the nostalgia of yesteryears with the technological prowess of today, we bridge the gap between tradition and innovation, offering a fresh look at the beloved and the eerie. Join us as we embark on a journey to unearth the haunted beauty of classic Halloween movie interiors, rekindling our love for the timeless and the macabre in a new, hauntingly realistic light.
#1 Beetlejuice
Beetlejuice, directed by Tim Burton, has solidified its place in cinematic history as a beloved cult classic. Released in 1988, the film has retained its charm, continuing to enchant audiences with its darkly whimsical and quirky narrative.
Set in the afterlife and the realm of the deceased, Beetlejuice introduces us to the Maitlands, a recently deceased couple who find themselves trapped in their own home. When the Deetz family moves in and begins to alter their beloved residence, the Maitlands seek the help of the titular character, Beetlejuice, an obnoxious and mischievous ghost.
What sets Beetlejuice apart and contributes to its enduring popularity are its aesthetics. The film’s production design and set decoration transport us to a world that is a delightful blend of the gothic and the absurd.
The Maitland’s haunted house is a marvel of grotesque beauty, filled with eccentric and grotesque details that are meticulously crafted to perfection. And AI managed to capture all of its magic in recreating an interior design inspired by the 1988 movie, as we’ve seen above.
#2 Sleepy Hollow
Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow, released in 1999, is a modern classic that has left a lasting mark on the world of fantasy and horror cinema. This adaptation of Washington Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow starring Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci transports us to a hauntingly atmospheric world where mystery and the supernatural reign supreme.
The story unfolds in the eerie, fog-shrouded town of Sleepy Hollow, where the legendary Headless Horseman terrorizes the inhabitants. Ichabod Crane, a skeptical constable from New York, is sent to investigate the grisly murders attributed to this decapitated specter.
As he delves deeper into the macabre secrets of the town, Ichabod discovers a web of dark conspiracies, and the line between the living and the dead becomes chillingly blurred.
Sleepy Hollow is beloved for a multitude of reasons, but its aesthetics play a crucial role in its appeal.
Tim Burton’s signature style is on full display in this film, and it’s impossible not to be entranced by the hauntingly beautiful world he creates. The movie’s visuals are a mesmerizing blend of Gothic and Victorian influences, rich in dark and brooding atmospheres.
The misty, moonlit woods and decaying manors of Sleepy Hollow are brought to life with an enchanting and eerie allure.
The film’s muted color palette, dominated by deep blacks, blood reds, and smoky grays, lends it an unmistakable sense of foreboding. The costumes, too, are meticulously designed to capture the essence of the period, making the characters feel like they’ve stepped out of a haunting painting.
And the interiors AI conjured in the image above beautifully reflect the moody aesthetics of the world Burton created.
#3 Friday the 13th
Friday the 13th (1980), is a beloved classic in the slasher genre. The film follows a group of camp counselors who, while trying to reopen a summer camp, are terrorized by an unknown assailant. As the body count rises, the identity of the killer becomes a chilling mystery.
This film is cherished for its role in popularizing the slasher subgenre and its effective use of suspense and tension. Its aesthetics, though simpler compared to other horror films, play a significant part in its appeal.
The movie’s camp setting, with its rustic cabins, dense woods, and isolated lakeside, creates a sense of vulnerability and fear.

The dark, shadowy cinematography and gruesome practical effects contribute to the film’s enduring reputation as a quintessential slasher classic. Its iconic killer, Jason Voorhees, has become a symbol of horror, and the film’s aesthetics remain an integral part of its enduring legacy.
And here’s how the movie’s aesthetics translates into interior design:
#4 The Nightmare Before Christmas
The 1993 stop-motion animated masterpiece The Nightmare Before Christmas
has carved a special place in the hearts of audiences as a holiday classic. This enchanting film, directed by Henry Selick and produced by Tim Burton, takes us to the whimsical worlds of Halloween Town and Christmas Town.
The story revolves around Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, who stumbles upon Christmas Town and becomes captivated by the holiday’s joy and cheer.
Determined to bring Christmas to his fellow residents, Jack embarks on a misadventure that blurs the lines between the macabre and the merry, resulting in a heartwarming and visually stunning narrative — that AI managed to transform into eccentric interiors that blend both the eerie and cheerful visual elements of the Halloween classic.
What makes “The Nightmare Before Christmas” so beloved are its unique aesthetics. The film is a visual marvel, with its meticulously crafted stop-motion animation creating a surreal and captivating world.
The character design, with its array of eccentric and endearing denizens, including Jack Skellington, Sally, and Oogie Boogie, is both spooky and lovable. The contrast between the dark, Tim Burton-inspired Halloween Town and the cheerful Christmas Town is an aesthetic triumph that underscores the film’s central theme of transformation and discovery.
#5 The Addams Family
The Addams Family, the 1991 cinematic adaptation of the classic TV series, remains a beloved classic known for its quirky characters and distinctive aesthetics.
Directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, the film brings the delightfully macabre Addams family to life on the big screen. The family’s eccentricities, from Gomez and Morticia’s passionate yet gothic love to Wednesday’s morbid fascination and Pugsley’s appetite for destruction, add a refreshing twist to the family comedy genre.
Aesthetically, the film is a visual feast.
The production design immerses viewers in the eerie and opulent world of the Addams mansion, which becomes a character in its own right. The mansion boasts a foreboding exterior and lavish, cobweb-covered interiors filled with bizarre artifacts and contraptions.
And while the exterior of the opulent house is by no means easy to replicate, AI quickly reimagined the interiors of the Addams family house, carefully incorporating the movie’s key themes and aesthetics.
The film’s color palette combines dark, moody tones with vibrant pops of color, capturing the whimsical and Gothic elements that set it apart from conventional family comedies.
The Addams Family embraces the macabre without losing its sense of humor, making it a unique and enduring classic that celebrates the unconventional while reminding us that there’s beauty in embracing the bizarre.
#6 Hocus Pocus
Another Halloween classic, Hocus Pocus (1993) has cast its spell on audiences for decades, becoming a cherished tradition during the spooky season.
The original movie — a much-awaited sequel was released in 2022 — weaves a captivating tale of three witch sisters resurrected on Halloween night in modern-day Salem, Massachusetts, and the trio’s quest for immortality.

The film’s enduring appeal lies in its enchanting blend of humor, supernatural elements, and timeless aesthetics. The Sanderson sisters, played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy, infuse the story with their zany yet malevolent charm, making them iconic Halloween figures.
The film’s witty and light-hearted approach to witchcraft and the supernatural, coupled with the nostalgic ’90s setting, creates a perfect blend of family-friendly Halloween spookiness with aesthetics that continue to captivate both young and old alike.
And they translate into some equally charming interiors that perfectly capture a timeless and whimsical Halloween atmosphere.
Visually, Hocus Pocus captures the essence of Halloween with its cozy small-town setting, complete with quaint colonial houses and a centuries-old cemetery.
The film’s visuals evoke the quintessential Halloween ambiance, replete with autumnal colors, jack-o’-lanterns, and the sisters’ distinctive witchy attire. The Sanderson sisters’ spellbinding concoctions and magical mishaps, rendered through practical effects, add a touch of enchantment to the film’s aesthetics, making it a feast for the eyes.
#7 Little Shop of Horrors
The 1986 cult classic is celebrated for its unique blend of musical comedy and horror. Directed by Frank Oz, the film tells the story of Seymour, a meek floral shop worker who discovers a peculiar plant with a ravenous appetite for human flesh. As the plant, Audrey II, grows and demands increasingly gruesome sacrifices, the story takes dark and humorous twists.
The film’s beloved status can be attributed to its entertaining combination of humor and horror, with a cast that includes Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene, and Steve Martin. Little Shop of Horrors offers a fresh take on the B-movie horror genre, using catchy musical numbers and witty dialogue to add an unexpected charm to the story.
Aesthetically, the film features a distinct 1960s urban backdrop with a color palette reminiscent of comic book aesthetics, easily replicated by AI when creating Little Shop of Horrors-inspired interiors.
The imaginative design of Audrey II, a menacing and larger-than-life carnivorous plant, is a visual highlight, blending seamlessly with the film’s darkly comedic themes.
The film’s aesthetics play a crucial role in making it memorable, creating a world where the bizarre and the hilarious intersect, ensuring Little Shop of Horrors remains a beloved classic for those who appreciate its quirky charm.

Dark interior design refers to a decorating style that uses predominantly dark hues and tones to create a desired ambiance or aesthetic in a space. This style can evoke a range of moods, from cozy and intimate to dramatic and sophisticated. When done correctly, dark interiors can be incredibly captivating and undeniably luxurious, even when it comes to the bathroom. Check out our dark bathroom ideas for a full idea of how to achieve this moody, ultra-luxe look.
Key features of dark interior design
Deep color palettes: This includes shades of black, gray, navy, deep green, burgundy and dark browns. These colors can be incorporated into walls, furniture, textiles and pieces of decor.
Contrast: Even within a dark palette, contrast is important. Using varying shades of dark colors while incorporating lighter accents, can break up the monotony and add depth to any room.
Texture variation: To prevent a space from feeling flat, it’s essential to incorporate various textures. Think of velvet cushions, silk curtains, rough wood and smooth metal. These differences create contrast and drama.
Ambient lighting: While it may seem oxymoronic, lighting plays a crucial role in dark interiors. The right lighting can enhance the perception of dark colors, create warmth and highlight unique design details. Consider using dimmable lights, candles or string lights to set the tone.
Metallic accents: Metallics like gold, brass and silver can pop beautifully against a dark background. They add a touch of luxury and visual interest to the overall design.
Art and decor: Choose art pieces and decorative items that complement or contrast the dark theme.
Layering: In a dark interior, layering textiles like rugs, throws and pillows can enhance the coziness of a room.
Benefits of dark interior design
Creates intimacy: Dark colors tend to bring walls visually closer, making large rooms feel more intimate.
Accentuates luxury: Dark shades, especially when paired with plush fabrics or metallics, can conjure a sense of opulence.
Highlights architectural features: Features like moldings, archways, and built-in shelving can be accentuated with dark colors.
Versatility: Dark interiors can be styled to fit a range of themes from modern and sleek to vintage and ornate.
Variables to keep in mind
Room size and natural light: As explained above, dark colors can make a small room feel even smaller. Ensure the room receives adequate natural light or has enough artificial lighting to prevent it from feeling like a cave.
Maintenance: Dark surfaces can show dust and smudges more easily, so regular cleaning may be necessary.
Balance: If not executed with care, a dark interior can feel oppressive. It’s essential to strike the right balance.
When approaching a dark interior design, it’s crucial to plan carefully and consider how each element contributes to the overall mood and function of the space. It’s also beneficial to take inspiration from design portfolios, magazines or online resources to visualize the result.
Dark bathroom basics
Dark bathroom interiors can create a particularly luxurious and spa-like ambiance when done correctly. Here’s a deeper dive into using dark design principles specifically in bathrooms.
1. Materials
Stone and tiles: Dark marble, slate or tiles look classy. Consider using them for countertops, shower areas or flooring. Textured tiles can also add dimension.
Wood: Dark-stained or naturally dark woods add warmth in the way only natural materials can. Consider this for vanities, shelving or even certain types of wall treatments.
Metal: Matte black or brushed bronze fixtures (like faucets, showerheads, and handles) contrast beautifully with dark interiors.
2. Wall colors
Navy, charcoal, forest green or even a deep plum can serve as your base wall color in dark design. If painting yourself, opt for a finish that can withstand moisture, like semi-gloss or satin.
3. Lighting
Task lighting: Essential around mirrors for activities like shaving or makeup application. Consider wall sconces or illuminated mirrors.
Ambient lighting: Recessed ceiling lights or even a statement chandelier can elevate the ambiance. Dimmable lights are a great choice for adjusting mood. What’s better than kicking back in the bathtub in a perfectly dimmed room?
Accent lighting: LED strips under vanities or behind mirrors can create a soft glow while maintaining a darker vibe.
4. Textiles and details
Towels and bath mats: Go for rich, plush fabrics in colors that either complement or contrast with the overall color scheme.
Decor: Plants, especially those with dark foliage, can thrive in well-lit bathrooms and complement the dark aesthetic.
5. Mirrors
Large mirrors or mirrored walls can break up the dark tones and help to reflect light, combating the condensing effect dark walls can have on a room.
6. Balancing with lighter tones
If you’re hesitant about going completely dark, consider balancing dark walls or floors with lighter-toned fixtures, textiles or accessories.
7. Consider natural light
If your bathroom has a window, think about the quality of natural light it receives. Sheer dark drapes or blinds can filter light while maintaining privacy.
8. Maintenance
Dark tiles and surfaces can show water spots or soap scum more prominently. Regular cleaning and using squeegees post-shower will help. Diligence is key here in keeping everything looking pristine.
Executing your dark bathroom ideas
Incorporating darkness into your bathroom can result in a chic and modern aesthetic. Here are some dark bathroom ideas to inspire your design journey.
Dark walls: Opt for matte black paint or dark tiles for a bold statement. Pair it with contrasting white fixtures for a clean look.
Dark floor tiles: Choose dark tiles, whether glossy, matte or textured, for your flooring. This can be especially dramatic when contrasted with lighter walls or fixtures.
Black fixtures: Install matte black faucets, showerheads and handles. They pop beautifully against neutral or lighter-colored tiles.
Dark vanity: A sleek dark vanity can serve as a focal point in the bathroom. Opt for one with gold or chrome handles for an added level of luxury.
Black bathtub: Consider a freestanding black bathtub as a striking centerpiece, especially if it’s set against a contrasting backdrop or white floor tiles.
Dark accessories: Incorporate dark colors through smaller items like soap dispensers, toothbrush holders, trash bins and even towels. In a bathroom, even the most basic functional pieces should be thought of as opportunities to enhance the overall aesthetic.
Black framed mirror: A large mirror framed in black can be both functional and stylish, helping to break up wall spaces and reflect light.
Black grout: If you’re not ready to commit to larger black elements, consider using black grout with white or light-colored tiles. This creates an intriguing grid-like appearance.
Black ceiling: A black ceiling can make a dramatic statement, especially when the walls are in a contrasting lighter shade. This is a great idea for smaller bathrooms or powder rooms. It allows you to embrace a dark aesthetic without shrinking the room.
Black window frames: If your bathroom has windows, black frames are both modern and timeless.
Patterns and textures: Play with black patterned wallpapers or tiles for added depth. Think about using a black herringbone tile pattern or a damask wallpaper.
Contrasting elements: Balance the dominance of black with natural materials like wood or plants. For instance, wooden shelves or a few potted green plants can add warmth to the space.
Benefits of dark bathroom ideas
Timelessness: Black is a color that seldom goes out of fashion, making it a wise choice for those looking for a lasting design.
Versatility: Black pairs well with almost every color, allowing for easy updates or changes in the future. It also compliments most metallic finishes, making it a failproof choice for anything from pewter to bright brass.
Sophistication: The color black inherently carries an air of elegance and refinement. Beyond that, black is an excellent color for concealing the type of wear and tear that naturally accrues through regular use.
Welcome to the dark side of bathroom design
Dark bathroom designs can transform an everyday commode into a luxurious escape. As with all design endeavors, the key lies in balance and attention to detail. Incorporating contrasting textures, varying tones, and adequate lighting ensures the design remains inviting and functional.
Remember, while these black bathroom ideas can be captivating, it’s essential to ensure that the space doesn’t become too dark or overwhelming. Proper lighting, reflective surfaces and contrasting elements can keep the space feeling open and inviting.

Thanksgiving decor can look just as good outside the home as it can inside. From beautiful wreaths and garlands, to pumpkins and cozy lights, these festive decorations are all about making your home look and feel more cozy, special, and seasonal.
The beauty of outdoor Thanksgiving decor is that you can use a lot of the same items that you would use for outdoor fall decor and even outdoor Halloween decor, so many of these decoration ideas can be embraced from the beginning of fall all the way through to Thanksgiving – then it’s time to start getting creative with outdoor Christmas decor.
Spruce up your outside space with outdoor Thanksgiving decor
fall flower and foliage inspiration for your front door, or are looking to decorate with pumpkins on your front porch, our ideas can elegantly elevate your exterior so it’s beautifully in sync with the season.
1. Pumpkins
This seasonal squash is synonymous with fall, Halloween, and Thanksgiving decor, and is probably the most traditional and popular seasonal decoration of them all.
Whether you style your outside space with pumpkins freshly picked from a day out at the pumpkin farm, or opt for a more contemporary look with stylish faux pumpkins that can be used year after year, it doesn’t get easier than placing a pretty pumpkin by your front door.
Here, interior designer Shea McGee from Studio McGee has created a beautiful blend of traditional Thanksgiving decorations with more modern color palettes. The scattered pumpkins in a palette of pastel shades perfectly complement the planters and their home’s white exterior. Shea says of the design, ‘our wreath (currently sold out but our Oversized Fall Leaf Wreath can create a simple effect) is from our Target for Threshold line, we tied a pretty fall-hued ribbon around the top of it to add some more interest.’
For some further inspiration, take a look at Shea’s similar Halloween porch look below.

2. Wreaths and garlands
A traditional festive decoration that beautifully celebrates the colors of fall and seasonal plants and flowers, a wreath or garland can add wonderful texture, color, and shape to your outside space. Wreaths are perfect for sitting pretty on a front door, and garlands can be used to decorate door frames and porch railings.
Whether you fancy embracing a Thanksgiving craft and having a go at making your own Thanksgiving wreath from flowers, branches, and foliage gathered from your yard and garden, or opt for an artificial design (we love Balsam Hill’s Autumn Abundance collection) you can never go wrong with styling your outside space with stylish natural accents.

fall planters filled with fall flowers and plants for fall color’ says designer, Chantelle Malarkey. ‘It’s great to get bunches in reds, oranges, and purples.
‘Or, for a more modern Thanksgiving decor idea, why not try styling your outside space with some pretty pampas grass? It’s one of my all-time favorites to style with, both indoors and outdoors, and can add a unique, neutral texture to your Thanksgiving decor.’ Pampas is perfect for using in a minimalist Thanksgiving scheme.
In this colorful outside space by @carlosriveracruet, the front porch area has been elegantly uplifted by pumpkins, a unique hanging foliage basket on the door (a great alternative to a wreath), and pretty pots filled with orange, yellow, and white flowers.

Outdoor Fortune lanterns from Pottery Barn are great for using all year round too, creating a wonderful seasonal scene that can look just as good at night as it can during the day.
Designer and landscaping expert Ward Dilmore also suggests, ‘as the sun sets, create a cozy and warm atmosphere with string lights. Hang them across your outdoor area or wrap them around porch railings. These lights not only provide illumination, but will add a magical touch to your Thanksgiving gathering.’ These Connectable String Lights from Balsam Hill are perfect – and they can be used for your outdoor Christmas lighting ideas too.

Review: “I did not expect the sturdiness that this stand has. It is absolutely beautiful once it’s finished. The wood is thick, there’s nothing flimsy on this thing. The actual fireplace has kept my living room toasty. And this weekend our heat just isn’t keeping up, so I’m so glad it came when it did. We’ve kept the heat on for the whole day and all night before heading to bed and it seems like this thing is quality. The shelves are so deep, I can fit multiple game units and our surround sound w out it looking cluttered. And of course my 4 year old enjoys the different color light show lol. Honestly it upgraded our living room. The tv shown is a 65”, and there’s a lot more space around it and in front of it. Our old stand was half the size holding this tv so really this is an amazing upgrade for us. I’m really in love w the quality and how modern this is. Probably the best thing I’ve bought on amazon. Now my only con. Took me forever to put it together… I had a 4 year old distracting me tho. But there’s ALOT of boxes within boxes and ALOT of styrofoam. I mean a lot lol. So be ready to have a major clean up. Otherwise I would totally recommend this stand. Absolutely gorgeous” – Jujubean

Review: “This is a beautiful bust. I have been buying a lot of things to decorate my Latin classroom with and, normally, when the items are this intricate, they are also small, but this busy is both intricately detailed and large. It was actually quite a bit bigger than I expected, but fits beautifully with the rest of my classroom decor. This is, perhaps, the center piece of my classroom.” – Tad

Review: “Ordered it after looking at many more expensive options in the furniture stores, ready to return it if we felt it was lower quality and cheap looking. Arrived today and after a simple assembly we feel it is perfect…very elegant and very sturdy. Replaced the supplied bulb with a smart led and we can now control brightness and color with voice commands. A+” – Flamethrower

Review: “These shelves were perfect for my accent wall in my dining room. They are super easy to hang. I was able to hit the studs for both hooks because they placed them in the right location on the shelf. They are truly authentic with nail holes and even a nail. So cool. 7” is plenty of depth to put accessories on. Worth the money.” – K.Ryan

Review: “This was a great buy. Just what I had been looking for, it’s very sturdy with a slight bit of weight but, not heavy by no means to handle. I’m glad I got it. You won’t be disappointed. The seller definitely did an awesome job on this one and it was packaged very very well and delivered with care. Now to decide where to put put because I want to hang it up on my wall.” – BB

Review: “I have bought so many things on Amazon and I do get let down often. This tree exceeded anything I thought I would be getting. The details are perfection. The material is perfection. It came in perfect condition. I simply took it out of the box and placed it in the planter I bought for it then fluffed out the leaves. It was so easy to do by myself. The leaves look so green and real like trees I’m used to in Florida but they don’t grow where I live now. Plus it smelled good. Not like a perfume or anything just clean. – Ciscojrmpswife

Review: “I wanted something to accompany the 50th Wedding Anniversary Card that I got for my wife. There would be plenty of real flowers, a family celebration and many gifts. I wanted something simple yet permanent that would stand out in our already filled China Cabinet. This is perfect. It doesn’t take much space. It is very well done, solid yet delicate. Attractive well made box for storage if need be. It will soon be added to our life-long precious collectibles and will hold its own.” – WallyH

Review: “I ordered this rug in the Grey/Brown color option. It is perfect for tying my brown wood furniture and dark grey floors together. It is also a great color/pattern combo for hiding any little spills my toddler or dog might have. The thickness is enough that it is comfortable and padded underfoot, but not thick enough for a lot of crumbs, dirt, hair, etc. to get stuck in the fibers. It definitely can be vacuumed easily. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and buy this rug again for other rooms! The picture shows the rug right out of the bag, so the side is still a little curled. After an hour or so it is already flattening out.” – Scott Hammock

Review: “Loved that they came in a set, so you know they’re going to be identical. Wonderful size. Tall. Perfect. Note. In order to get the leaves to look like the ad picture: when installing, the leaves are in various sizes and you can put them wherever you’d like. Smaller on the bottom, larger on top, works best. Alternating colors. Initially, they stick straight up. To get the curved look, roll the “leaves” by hand. Do not try to bend the wire between the leaf and the stem. They really do look quite real” – Good

Review: “I love this screen. We placed it on our deck for a privacy screen and love it. It is a very versatile screen and I have used it in several places in the house as well. It looks great on the deck as you can see. I ordered 30″ zip ties when I ordered the screen and have used the zip ties to gently secure the screen to the deck posts for windy days. I want to order another!” – Buckleysangel

Review: “I had a great TV stand that I really liked because it was open. I decided to order this one because the top was going to raise the height of the tv. At the last minute I decided NOT to add the back & the doors so that it would be exactly like the previous one, so I wanted a buyer to know you can leave off the back & doors if you choose & it looks great. When I get bored I change things often, so if I decide to add the back & doors it will be like a different piece of furniture. I am so pleased with this purchase.” – Robinette Fields

Review: “I was very apprehensive because it was only a two ounce candle pretty small but wow it’s mighty. I understand the price now. I’m going to say buying the 8oz version is going to be totally worth it because this candle lasts a while and you don’t need to leave it on for long and the smell will Permeate the entire area and it’s very strong. I would also say this is a great gift for anyone and especially for a masculine man.” – That One Girl

Fresh on the Hamptons market is this timeless luxury estate listed for a not-so-humble $7.75 million.
With classic charm, contemporary amenities, and private access to Southampton’s exclusive Cooper Beach, the lucky new homeowner will go from always dreaming to actually living out the ultimate coastal lifestyle.
Whoever snatches the lavish property in this star-studded Southampton community will not only boast a beautiful home but a lengthy roster of elite neighbors, including Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Jennifer Lopez, Gwenyth Paltrow, Ralph Lauren, and Bon Jovi.
The affluent community regularly attracts A-listers thanks to its exclusivity among lush landscaping and world-class beaches — a welcome break from the bustle of nearby New York City.
But the Hamptons house’s current owner has his own claim to fame.
The estate’s current owner, Anthony Bonomo, co-owned the 143rd Kentucky Derby’s award-winning horse, “Always Dreaming”, back in 2017 along with his longtime pal Vincent Viola.
The two grew up together in 1960s Brooklyn, ‘always dreaming’ of one day winning the highest-attended Thoroughbred stakes race in North America. The ambitious pair finally achieved their equine dreams thanks to their champion colt, who also won 1st place in the Florida Derby that same year.

Now, Bonomo’s Hamptons house is up for grabs for equestrian enthusiasts and beach lovers alike.
Bonomo first purchased the 23 Heady Creek Lane home back in 2014 for just $4.4 million, still high but paling in comparison to its current price tag. But one look at the stately property and you’ll quickly realize its worth.
Featuring quintessential Hamptons charm adorned with all the modern luxury updates you could ask for, it merits as much recognition as its current owner’s all-star racehorse.
Pass through a posh cobblestone driveway and you’ll be greeted by a traditional stately Southampton pad, complete with 6 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms on a sprawling half-acre of land.
Inside, an imposing great room featuring high vaulted ceilings with crown molding, an opulent chandelier, and elegant hardwood floors hint at the opulence featured throughout the rest of the house.
The living area beckons with a spacious floor plan that extends to the luxurious chef’s kitchen boasting a marble-glossed island and cutting-edge appliances.
The Southampton house’s bedrooms each have their distinct ‘personality’, some boasting charming moody decor.
Descending to the lower level, you’ll find dual entertainment spaces, a full bed and bath ideal for overnight guests, a walk-in wine cellar, and a home gym.
The home flawlessly mixes timeless style, like cozy statement fireplaces, with state-of-the-art additions like a Sonos sound system across the property.
Inviting indoor-outdoor-style glass doors seamlessly flow into the expansive backyard, which features a covered lounge area, barbecue pit, and heated pool with a waterfall spa- all perfect for throwing a memorable 4th of July bash.
A separate pool house with its own kitchen and bathroom offers added convenience and comfort while lounging outdoors.
Kieran Rodgers, Nicholas Campasano, and Ricardo Pena of The Agency RE serve as listing agents for the $7.75 million Hamptons home.
