Meet Shana! Shana works at our corporate office in Milford, CT as an Administrative Assistant. We sat down with her to learn more about how she got started at Total Mortgage and what she enjoys doing in her free time.
What brought you to Total Mortgage? I was working as a retail associate at Goodwill at the time, and I really needed a change of pace—I had been at Goodwill for nearly four years and I didn’t see any chances for growth. Luckily I found Total Mortgage and I love it here! I’m especially appreciative of how much the company as a whole value upward mobility.
What was your first job? My first job was in college—I worked at the front desk of a recreational building called The Stood! It was really fun, I would always have my friends with me during my shifts and if they got bored they could go play pool or an arcade game. There was also an art gallery space that showed off student work, spaces for bands to perform, and a cinema room!
Do you have any pets? I have two dogs: Cassie, an Anatolian shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix, and Buddy, a lab mix. They’re total goofballs.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time? I read a lot of poetry these days—Natalie Eilbert is one of my all-time faves. I also love hiking when the weather is nice enough for it!
What is the first thing you would do if you won the lottery? his might be a boring answer but I’d probably pay off my student loans first. But then I’d go on a month-long tour of Europe. 🙂
What’s on your road trip playlist? A lot of songs from Joji, Aminé, Jpegmafia, Oliver Tree, Talking Heads, Willow, Grizzly Bear, Pavement, and The Magnetic Fields!
If someone were to come to your town, what is one local spot you would send them to & why? Definitely Scoopy Doo’s (weather permitting)! They have amazing ice cream; my favorite flavor is probably their marsh flavor. There’s also The Plate, which is an incredible breakfast spot—I’ve never had a dish there that I didn’t like!
If you want more financial discipline you are probably looking to curb impulsive spending, save money, or maybe just achieve financial stability.
Building self discipline your financial decisions is an important part of building wealth over the long run.
What’s Ahead:
Why is self discipline the key to becoming a good saver
Being a good saver requires self discipline since there is so much fun stuff to do and buy. You are exposed to more advertising than anyone in the history of the world, and the marketing companies know a lot about psychology and exactly how to get you to part with your money.
So it takes a lot of self discipline in order to fight those tactics and stay on course to meet your goals. You have to have a clear goal and know that meeting that goal is more important than anything you can buy.
It requires a lot of self discipline to overcome the temptation to delay gratification of spending money and to save it instead.
Steps to develop self discipline
Step 1: Set a goal – then break it down into regularly recurring actions
What exactly do you want to achieve? It could be to build a fully funded emergency fund, start investing, pay off your debt, or even achieve financial independence – or anything in between.
Write down exactly what your goal is and the date by which you want to achieve it. For example, you may want to pay off your credit card debt within one year.
Then break down exactly what actions you need to take on a regular basis. Make these actions as small and as regular as possible. A small daily action is better than a larger monthly action.
For example, if you owe $10,000 on your credit card you’ll need to pay $833.33 off each month. Is that doable? If your budget allows for that, great. If not, you’ll need to figure out what exactly you need to do make up the difference.
If your regular payment is $150 and you can pull an extra $200 per month from your monthly budget that means you’ll need to come up with an additional $484 per month. If you have time to walk dogs after work you may decide to pick up a dog walking client for a few walks per week. At $25 per walk you’d have to walk the dog 20 times per month to make up the $484 you need. If you picked up a client that needed the dog walked everyday after work, you’d have the full amount.
You now have a goal and an action plan to make that goal happen.
Here are a few examples of short, mid, and long-term goals, but feel free to fill in the blanks with your own personal financial goals.
Short-term goals
Saving money each month towards your emergency fund
Going out to dinner with friends twice a month
Small household projects (planting a small indoor garden, painting a room, etc.)
Mid-term goals
Saving for a weekend getaway
Paying cash for your next car
Paying off your credit card debt
Long-term goals
Down payment on a house
Paying off your student loans
Putting money away for retirement
Read more: How to prioritize and save for multiple goals at once
Step 2: Track your progress
You’ll want some way to visualize and track your progress. A lot of people find this extremely motivating.
Using the example of paying off your car above, you could make a thermostat and color in a section each time you make a payment, representing the amount of money you’ve paid off (or is left on the loan). Or cover a piece of paper with stars (or anything else) and color in a star every time you send in your payment, each star representing one payment or a set amount of money.
Hang your tracker on the fridge so you can see it every day to remind you of what you are working towards. Make it a little celebration each time you get to fill in more of your tracker.
You can also go digital with your goal tracking. Apps like Empower offer a few different services for investing and checking up on your financial health. But, in this instance, I’m referring to the free tools they offer to keep track of your net worth.
You can create an account with them without opening an investment account. The wealth management and planning tools are the ones that you will probably be most interested in to help determine where you are at currently.
You can connect all of your financial accounts within the tool. These will be things, such as:
Checking account
Savings account(s)
Investment account(s)
Student loan account(s)
Auto loan account
Mortgage account
Credit card(s)
Medical debt account(s)
Sometimes, it can be pretty scary to see what your actual net worth is vs. where you want to be.
But, I use this as a driving force to work harder every month to increase my overall net worth. Because the faster I can get my net worth up, the faster I can get to my long-term goals.
Step 3: Find your tribe
Find people in your life who are working towards similar goals. This will help build self discipline because you’ll have a community that is embodying the new behaviors you want to build.
If you meet regularly with others who are paying off debt, you’ll have more discipline to follow that same path. You’ll have someone to share your successes with and a friend who can help when you are struggling.
Contrast that to when your friends regularly encourage overspending. Just going out to have a meal or a drink with friends can end up costing $100 or more in some instances. Something that sounded so innocuous, has now completely derailed your goal.
This isn’t to say you need to replace your entire friend group – not at all. But it will be up to you set a budget for having fun and then stick to it.
For example, instead of having two-three drinks, only have one. Go out for lunch instead of dinner, or a matinee instead of a night movie.
All of these options still give you the freedom to hang out with your friends and enjoy your life, but it won’t cost you nearly as much. And when you stick to your budget, your future self will thank you for your discipline.

Tips to meet your financial goals
Determine your needs vs. your wants
Setting up your financial goals and a way to track them are the first steps. But staying on track can get tricky when life happens. This is where needs vs. wants come into play. There are things that all of us want to have. But these are the things that can throw us off track so fast it will make your head spin.
So keeping in mind if the item/service is a need or a want can help you have more financial disciplined. Just remember to think long and hard about any purchases before you pull the trigger. If it is a need, then go ahead and do it. But if the item is actually something you want instead, it’s usually best to hold off even for a bit to make sure you still really want it as much as you think you do.
Reduce, reuse, recycle
When it comes to purchasing wants, you have a few other options that can save you a ton of money. If there is an item that you are wanting to purchase, but it simply isn’t in the budget, what might be some other ways to achieve the same goal?
Reduce, reuse or recycle may just be the best option here. If you have things in your house that you can get rid of (and maybe even make some money off of their sale), then that is one way to get the potential want. Sell your old stuff and then use the proceeds to purchase the new want item.
Or, if you can reuse an item you have in your house already, paired with something else, in order to create a similar item, then why not do that? Sometimes, all a table or chair needs is a fresh coat of paint in order to feel like a completely new item. So get creative and think outside the box about things you already have at your disposal.
And if all else fails, recycle your old items. You may not make any money off of them, but you could potentially get a tax write-off. Plus, it declutters your space, which can make it feel like a completely new room. Sometimes, that is really all you need.
Make it automatic
No matter what you goal is you can probably automate at least some of it.
If you want to save more, schedule automatic transfers from your checking to your savings. If you want to pay off a certain amount of debt each month, set automatic payments to your accounts.
Having these transactions happen automatically will remove the friction that can be caused when you have to manually make that extra payment, or save that extra money. You can always go in and stop or change the automatic payment if you can’t swing it one month, but making it the default will cause it to happen more often than not.
Of course, don’t set yourself up for failure. Setting an automatic payment without a plan to make sure the money is available will cause more harm than good. Create a feasible plan and realistic goal, then set it up to run without any extra effort from you.

Put your emergency fund in a high yield savings account
If you are working on building your emergency fund – or already have a solid savings account – you’ll want to make sure you are getting the most interest possible. This will help grow your savings rate since you’ll be earning a little extra interest each month.
Interest rates on high-yield savings accounts are higher than they’ve been in years, and the difference between online accounts and those at your local bank are huge. So, while these high yield savings account rates may not be anywhere close to the average return you will get on investing your money, it’s still nice to make some interest on your savings.
The best high yield savings account, in my opinion, is the CIT Savings Builder.

Summary
Overall, it is extremely easy for our money to flow through our fingers like water. This is why you have to be cognizant of what you have and where you want to be with your finances.
If you want to avoid debt, save more money, or invest for your future then it’s important to develop self discipline in your finances.
Heading out on vacation can be fun, but what happens when you have pets at home? Whether it’s a beloved cat or the family dog, leaving them behind can leave you with more stress than it’s worth.
Thankfully, there are a number of airlines that’ll allow you to travel with your pets, whether that’s in the cabin or as cargo. Alaska Airlines is one of these — and it’s one of the best options out there for those traveling with pets.
Let’s take a look at the Alaska Airlines pet policy, what it looks like to fly with pet cargo and requirements for bringing your pet in the cabin.
Alaska Airlines pet cargo policy
There are two ways Alaska Airlines allows you to bring your pet as cargo: traveling on the same flight as you or separately — and the requirements are different for each.
Traveling on the same flight
If you’re going to be flying at the same time as your pet, you’ll need to check your pet to travel within the climate-controlled baggage compartment.
Here are the criteria for doing so:
Pet and carrier combined cannot exceed 150 pounds.
The fee is $150 one way.
Accepted animals include cats, dogs, ferrets, guinea pigs, hamsters, household birds, nonpoisonous reptiles, potbellied pigs, rabbits and tropical fish.
You must have a health certificate issued by a veterinarian.
For travel within the state of Alaska or active duty military (and their dependents) the cost to check a pet is $100.
🤓Nerdy Tip
Recent NerdWallet analysis found the average pet fee to be $113 across major U.S. airlines.
In order to book your pet’s travels, you’ll want to either call Alaska Airlines at 800-252-7522 or use its website’s chat feature to secure a reservation.
This can be done after booking your own flight, but it’s better to do so sooner rather than later as the number of pets allowed in the baggage compartment is limited.
There are some restrictions for breeds and younger animals. For example, pets with snub noses, such as bulldogs and Persian cats, are unable to travel in the baggage compartment.
Finally, there are some limitations when it comes to traveling during certain periods of the year.
Those on Alaska flight numbers 2000-2999 or 3300-3499 are unable to check pets in the baggage compartment from Nov. 15 to Jan. 10 each year due to weather.
Shipping separately
If you won’t be traveling on the same flight as your pet, it’s still possible for them to catch their own flight. Alaska Airlines’ Pet Connect service is available on specific flights subject to weather conditions and destination.
Like checking your pet as baggage, you’ll need to meet a series of requirements, including providing access to food and water, a comfortable and sturdy carrier and a health certificate.
For unaccompanied pets, Alaska only allows travel during periods when the temperature is between 45 and 85 degrees. It’s possible to make an exception provided you have a vet letter stating that your pet is acclimated to more extreme weather types.
Pet Connect reservations can be made between 30 days and 24 hours prior to travel, though there are different requirements if some of the travel takes place on another airline.
The same breed restrictions apply for Pet Connect flights as for checking your pet as baggage, so be sure to double-check before booking.
Alaska Airlines in-cabin pet options
If your pet is small enough to fit under an airline seat, they’ll be able to travel in the cabin with you. Alaska Airlines doesn’t specify a weight requirement for pets, though they must be able to stand up and turn around in their carrier under the seat.
The fee is $100 one way.
Acceptable animals include cats, dogs, rabbits and household birds.
You must be 18 or older to travel with a pet in the cabin.
Your pet counts toward your carry-on allotment.
You can travel with a maximum of two pet carriers in the main cabin if you also purchase an adjacent seat.
Dogs and cats must be at least 8 weeks old.
The pet must stay in the carrier at all times.
Up to two pets of the same species can travel in one carrier provided they fit comfortably.
There is a limited number of pets allowed in the cabin on each flight. In first class, up to three pets can be accommodated. In the economy cabin, up to eight pets are allowed per flight.
How flying with pets on Alaska compares to other airlines
It beat out all other competitor airlines to take the top spot for those traveling with pets. This is thanks to a number of factors, including how many animals you’re allowed to bring, the cost of traveling with a pet and the types of animals allowed.
Other things that were considered include whether the airline offers cargo services, if you’re allowed to bring your pet to the lounge and how well they handle pet transport.
Final thoughts on Alaska Airlines pet cargo
Alaska Airlines’ pet policies are some of the best in the business, with great options for those looking to travel with their pets.
This is true whether you’re planning to bring them in the cabin or check them as cargo. Its prices are among the lowest for airline pet travel and the variety of animals it accepts is more generous than most.
However, you’ll want to note that there are still some restrictions involved with the breed of animal that can fly, as well as dates during the year when traveling with pet cargo is unavailable.
Before you book, do your research to ensure that your pet meets all the requirements of traveling on Alaska Airlines.

I have recently become fascinated by the idea of Billionaire Morning Routines.
The premise is that if you want to be successful in life, then you must wake up at an early hour and dedicate time or energy towards your goals. I am still not sure how this translates into a morning routine for me, but what I do know is:
You don’t need much money to become wealthy.
Your mindset can drastically change the trajectory of your day and life.
Sometimes it can feel like the odds are stacked against you. But there’s always hope.
Personally, I have found success by following this simple morning routine that will help get me through each day and set my path for success.
Successful millionaires have certain habits that can help you be more productive each and every day! While not everyone aspires to be a millionaire, these habits can still be useful for anyone looking to increase their productivity levels.
In this post, we are going to dig into billionaire morning routines and look at some millionaire morning routines as well.
Is a cup of strong coffee enough? Or do you need to layer some more key habits of billionaires on top?
So, if you’re looking for some tips on how to be more productive, following in the footsteps of some successful millionaires is a great place to start!
Remember these are the people making 10 figures…
What is a Billionaire Morning Routine?
A Billionaire Morning Routine is a set of habits that wealthy individuals use to start their day in order to increase their chances of success. This usually involves waking up early, exercising, eating a healthy breakfast, and spending time on personal development.
These routines are a set of designated activities that can help you stay on track. A millionaire or billionaire morning routine helps you organize your day from the moment you wake up until the time you leave for work. The difference between what you’re doing and a millionaire morning routine is the way you manage your time.
Every day is different for billionaires, but their morning routine should always be prioritized by their lifestyle needs first.
A billionaire morning routine should focus on managing your time in a way that allows for consistency with priorities of lifestyle needs and productivity goals.
Why is a Millionaires Morning Routine or even a Billionaires Important?
The reason a Millionaire’s Morning Routine is important is that it sets the tone for the rest of the day. If you start your day by working on your goals and taking care of yourself, you’re more likely to have a successful day.
Don’t you want to maximize your time and get the most out of your day?
These are the key benefits of following a billionaires morning routine:
Stay focused on the important tasks at hand each morning.
Help you better prioritize your time in the morning and throughout your day.
Increase your productivity all day long.
Reduce the stress you feel each morning.
Boost your energy levels throughout the day.
In addition, a millionaire or billionaire’s lifestyle is associated with a number of benefits, including increased happiness, improved focus, and more time to accomplish goals.
There are many reasons why having a billionaires morning routine, or even a millionaires morning routine, is so important.
A millionaire morning routine is empowering because it gives you control over your life–and who doesn’t want that?
Billionaire Morning Routines
There are a lot of different opinions on how to achieve success in life, but one thing is for sure: you have to get up early if you want to be a millionaire.
You have heard the saying, “the early bird gets the worm.”
They use these routines to set themselves up for success and make the most of their time. Plus there are a few key things that all millionaire morning routines have in common.
This allows them to get centered and focus on what they want to achieve.
The billionaires’ morning routines are a good place to start when trying to improve your own routine.
Billionaire morning routines are the first place to start when trying to change your daily habits for the better. These practices provide a foundation that you can build off of as you work towards reaching your goals.
#1 – Wake up early
Wake up early to get more done in the morning.
Go to bed at a reasonable time so you can sleep well and be refreshed for the day.
Here are some tips to make waking up easier:
Have a wind-down process before bedtime.
Switch off screens an hour or two before you plan to go to bed so you sleep easily when the sun rises at 5 am.
Wake up five minutes earlier than you do now and work your way up until you wake up an hour earlier.
Waking up early is a simple change that anyone can make!
To get up early, go to bed earlier. The key to getting up early is going to bed early and having a wind-down routine so you sleep easily when you get into bed.
#2 – Meditate
Meditation can aid in concentration, creativity and reduce stress.
There are a variety of ways to meditate, including sitting quietly and focusing on your breathing.
When it comes to improving productivity, many people think that meditation is a waste of time. However, this could not be further from the truth.
In fact, there are a number of reasons why you should meditate every day:
Lowers your stress levels
Helps you focus
Improves creativity
Provides answers to unexpected problems
Helps make decision making easier
Keeps you less distracted throughout the day.
The hardest part of meditation is getting started, but it’s worth it if you have the discipline to stick with it for even 5 minutes a day or do some other form of relaxation therapy before falling asleep at night.
It doesn’t matter how long you do it, as long as you’re getting the benefits from it.
#3 – Glass of Water
Drinking water in the morning can improve general health and well-being.
Celebrities including Kim Kardashian, Beyoncé, and Cameron Diaz have touted the benefits of drinking water regularly.
Water is essential for life. In fact, our body is composed of about 60% water. We lose water every day through sweating, breathing, and urination, so it’s important to replenish our fluid intake. Drinking a glass of water in the morning can reduce calorie intake and improve mental performance.
Drinking water in the morning can help you stay alert, make you more energetic, and provide the necessary fuel for your brain. It’s important to drink water first thing in the morning because it hydrates quickly and fuels your body. Drinking water is also a great way to hydrate for a long day of work or play later on that day.
#4 – Exercise
The wealthiest people in the world begin their days with some exercise. They choose to perform this activity in the morning so that it doesn’t get forgotten among all their other daily responsibilities.
Richard Branson, a British billionaire, exercises every morning without fail.
Exercising boosts your confidence, has positive effects on your mood, and helps them focus throughout the day.
The key is to find a way to incorporate exercise into your routine each day. Find an exercise that works for you and stick with it.
Wake up early and exercise. Exercise is a great way to start your day off on the right foot. It gets your blood flowing and helps you wake up mentally and physically. Plus, it’s a great way to get in some extra fitness goals for the day!
#6 – Read a book
Reading can boost cognitive activity in the brain. This means that you’ll be more alert and prepared for whatever challenges the day throws your way!
Also, reading before bed can help calm the mind and prepare the body for sleep.
# 7 – Eat a healthy breakfast
Many successful people have made breakfast a key part of their morning routine.
Starting your day off with a filling meal can help you stay focused, give you more energy, and help you concentrate on the work you need to accomplish later in the day.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and it’s especially important to eat a healthy breakfast. Eating breakfast helps your body and mind function at their best. It can give you energy for the day ahead, help you focus, and provide necessary nutrients for your brain.
There are many different types of healthy breakfasts that you can try. Some people like to have eggs, others prefer yogurt or granola. Kelly Ripa has coffee, yogurt, and granola as a breakfast routine; Barack Obama has eggs, potatoes, and wheat toast. Reese Witherspoon’s go-to green smoothie recipe has been her breakfast routine for the last nine years. Idris Elba keeps it simple with toast during his morning routine.
No matter what you choose to eat for breakfast, make sure you drink plenty of water as well.
On the flip side of the coin is fasting during breakfast and maybe even lunch.
#8 – Plan your day the night before
Plan out your day ahead of time. One of the best ways to ensure that you make the most of your time is by planning out your day ahead of time. This will help keep you organized and focused on what’s important.
Determining when during the day is the best time to tackle your toughest jobs can help reduce stress and increase performance.
Journal your thoughts, plan your day, and focus on what you want in life.
Goals don’t happen unless they are written down and acted upon.
One way to make sure you start your day off on the right foot is by planning your day the night before. This way, you can wake up knowing what you need to do and have a plan in place for how you’re going to get it done.
Reflecting in the evening about what you want for yourself can help solidify your intentions and give them power by writing them down for review each day.
#9 – Plan the day ahead
Others prefer to plan their day in the morning.
Getting out of bed and putting your best foot forward EVERY SINGLE DAY is important for having a successful morning routine.
By planning out your tasks, you will be better prepared to face any challenges that come your way during the day.
To help with this, try creating a morning routine that fosters a healthy mind, body, and spirit. This will get you ready to operate at peak performance.
In order to be successful, you have to know your schedule so you can plan time blocks for specific activities. There are only so many hours in a day – you must make sure they are well spent.
#10 – Create your routine
Creating a routine for your morning will help you accomplish more with your time, starting your day off on the right foot, and it will also give you a chance to start your day off with joy before any hustle or stress begins.
Some of the benefits of a millionaire morning routine include stress-free, accomplished things, and increased levels of happiness.
However, remember that the Millionaire Morning Routine is not the only one out there! You can start your day by hitting the ground running but don’t copy and paste a billionaire’s exact routine. Billionaires set their days apart with goals, so try our goal-setting worksheet to get a head start!
There are many factors to consider when deciding if a millionaire morning routine is for you, such as the goals you want to achieve and your schedule.
However, you need to create a routine that works for you. Below, you will see some samples from billionaires, but at the end of the day, it has to work for you.
When you have something to look forward to at the beginning of each day, it helps reduce stress and makes you happier. It’s also a way to get your day started on the right foot.
What time does the average billionaire wake up?
There is no average billionaire wake up time because there is no average billionaire.
However, it is well known that most millionaires and top executives wake up early in the morning. Some may be up by 4 am while others start their days between 6-7 am.
This gives them plenty of time to get ready for their day and start working on their goals.
Waking up early is a great way to start your day. You have more time to get things done, and you’re less likely to be stressed out. In addition, it’s a good opportunity to meditate and clear your mind before getting started on your work.
Billionaire Morning Routine Examples
There’s no one right way to have a successful morning routine, but many millionaires and billionaires have habits that they credit with helping them achieve their goals.
Others include setting priorities for the day and planning ahead.
There are many different morning routines that billionaires follow in order to achieve success. Some of these routines include waking up early, exercising, and reading. Others involve spending time with family and friends or networking.
No matter what a billionaire’s routine may be… the most important thing is that they stick to it and make sure they are taking steps each day to move closer to their goals.
These billionaires have different workdays, but all follow a similar daily routine to keep their minds and bodies in check.
Elon Musk Morning Routine
Elon Musk is a well-known entrepreneur and investor. He is the founder, CEO, and CTO of SpaceX, co-founder of Tesla Motors, and chairman of SolarCity. He also has a keen interest in artificial intelligence.
First of all, sleep for Musk is minimal with him going to bed around 1 am and back working by 7 am.
Musk has a routine that includes 5 minute blocks. In each block, he does one thing that is important to him. This could be making calls, sending emails, or working on a project. By doing this, he is able to focus on one task at a time and avoid distractions.
Musk’s routine also includes planning out how long it will take him to complete tasks throughout the day so that he can be sure not to waste time on tasks that are unnecessary or take too much time. This prevents him from feeling rushed and allows him to focus on the most important tasks. He makes a solid plan for his day in order to prioritize what he needs to accomplish – even though it may not go as he planned.
Kylie Jenner Morning Routine
Jenner wakes up early which is credited to her mom as setting an example for rising early. This self-made billionaire is not sleeping in at all, especially with her daughter.
The most intensive part of her morning routine is getting herself glammed up for the day. She will not eat breakfast without her makeup on. Workouts? She is known to work out 1-2 times a day depending on her schedule.
Finally, she eats breakfast and starts working on her business.
Waking up early and exercising sets the tone for the rest of her day and allows her to get things done efficiently.
Jack Dorsey Morning Routine
Jack Dorsey is the founder of Twitter and Square. He has a very unique morning routine that some people might find inspiring.
He wakes up at 5:00 am and spends his early hours on personal care.
First, Dorsey starts off by taking an ice bath to shock his system. This supposedly boosts mental confidence, which is necessary for running two major tech companies.
After the ice bath, he spends 60 minutes meditating in silence. This prepares him for his five-mile walk or jog to work. He skips breakfast, which many people find controversial.
He wraps up his day by journaling and reflecting on what went well and what could be improved.
Warren Buffet Morning Routine
Let’s be honest… many people look at Warren Buffet for inspiration and guidance. He is a wealth of knowledge that has lived throughout many of the toughest points in our nation’s history.
Billionaire Warren Buffet reportedly wakes up at 6:45 am and drinks a can of Coke. Then, he heads to the local McDonald’s for breakfast.
Very opposite of what most people would assume. But this morning routine has served Buffet well for years.
Warren gets down to business. He explains that most days, he just sits in his office and reads finance-related materials all day – specifically related to company financials, market materials, financial journals, and investor reports.
After leaving the office, Buffet goes home and might pick up fast food from time to time, but typically eats at home later in the day. A little reading before bed around 10 pm.
Oprah Winfrey Morning Routine
Oprah Winfrey is a famous American talk show host and actress. She wakes up at around 8:00 AM every day, brushes her teeth, lets the dogs out, and then starts her morning routine.
She places importance on reading at least five cards from her 365 Gathered Truths box each morning. More than likely she started with saying any of these money affirmations before she found her fame.
Oprah has a routine that includes a couple of hours spent on spiritual exercises, followed by an hour of low-impact strength-training program. She also spends time with her family and friends before finally starting work in the afternoon.
Jeff Bezos Morning Routine
Jeff Bezos has a very strict daily routine that he follows. He wakes up early (somewhere between 5:00 am -6:30 am) and begins by reading the news. After that, he spends time with family, eats breakfast, and does various activities that are not work-related.
His first business meeting starts at 10 am normally working on Amazon business matters. He has business meetings and visits fulfillment centers in the afternoon, but avoids important decisions late due to fatigue.
Sleep is important to this entrepreneur and goes to bed earlier than most.
What is the most successful morning routine?
The most successful morning routine for many people includes a mix of habits that help them start their day off on the right foot. This may include waking up early, drinking a glass of water, eating a healthy breakfast, and spending some time in prayer or meditation.
In order to be successful, it’s important to have a morning routine that incorporates good habits.
If you struggle with habits, then I highly recommend you read the book Atomic Habits. These habits are easy to incorporate into your own life and will help you accomplish more tasks and live like a billionaire.
How long does the 1 billion dollar morning routine take?
The 1 billion dollar morning routine was created by Jim Kwik, a YouTube creator.
It takes at least one hour to work through his 1 billion dollar morning routine.
Here are the key principles for Jim Kwik’s 1 billion dollar routine (source):
Recall your dreams
Make your bead
Drink water and take supplements
Focus on breathing
Meditate for 15-20 minutes
Move the body for 1-2 minutes
Take a cold shower
Enjoy a cup of tea
Journal
Create 3 lists: to-do list, to-be list, and to-feel list
Read for 20-30 minutes
Make a brain smoothie
Participate in brain training.
Start with the most difficult (and important) task
Self-care, self-love, and setting a vision and direction for the day are essential components of this routine. And don’t forget about hydration! A glass of water is a great way to start your day off on the right foot.
Journaling is another important part of this routine. It allows you to check-in with yourself about your stressors and how to navigate them. Consider implementing a few of these steps into your routine to see how they make you feel.
The 1 billion dollar morning routine may not be feasible for everyone, but some of the steps included are still worth considering (particularly the one about having a plan). Or moving some of the activities to other parts of the day.
What are the habits of a billionaire life?
In order to achieve success in life, it is important to emulate the habits of a billionaire. This may seem daunting at first, but if you take a closer look at what these individuals do on a daily basis, you will find that many of their habits are actually quite attainable.
For example, many billionaires are avid readers and they make sure to read something every day. They also have a strong focus on personal finance and know how to manage their money well. Additionally, they understand the importance of taking care of themselves both physically and mentally. All of these habits are important for anyone looking to achieve success in life!
These types of people are the opposite of I don’t want to work anymore.
What will your productive morning routines look like?
There’s no “right” way to have a productive morning routine – as long as you’re committed to it and conforms to the same principles.

It’s also key to be flexible with your routine so that you can adjust when necessary. For instance, if something comes up or there’s a change in your schedule, you’ll be able to adapt without too much trouble.
The important thing is that you make time for the things that are important to you and that help you achieve your goals.
This might include exercise, breakfast preparation, or “mindful living.”
Whatever it is, make sure it works for you and that you’re actually going to stick with it!

Master your main course Whether you are a meat-eater or a veggie-lover, you can increase your BBQ clout by mastering a main course. Understanding how to grill different types of meat or how to barbecue veggies to perfection takes time. Start by picking one main dish to master. When you can make the most amazing hot dogs or pork chops, you’ll be a sizzling sensation at the community grill.
Choose your weapon Your apartment community may provide grills for residents to share and enjoy. If you want to invest in a personal grill, however, you have plenty of grilling options.
When you want to fire it up fast, a gas grill is right for you.
If you can wait patiently for chargrilled flavor, then a charcoal grill is your best bet.
If you are afraid of fire — but love cooking outdoors — try an electric grill.
Not all grills are created equal, but just about any grill can make a mean burger!
Know the rules of the grill The most important of all grilling tips is to always follow your community’s grilling guidelines. A good grillmaster takes risks with flavor combinations, but not with grilling safety. Check the Hearth, Patio and Barbecue Association’s list of safety rules.
Most apartments won’t let you have combustible materials within 10 feet of a building or decking, so discuss the details with your property manager before grilling out. Or use your community grill to play it safe (and make friends!)
Come equipped For the best results, assemble great grilling gear. There’s a cornucopia of grilling tools on the market ranging from frugal to fancy. No matter how much you spend, you’ll need the basics:
Spatula
Tongs
Meat fork
Marinade brush
Carving board
Meat-slicing knife
Meat thermometer
In addition to these essentials, you can spice things up with specialty grill gear like a monogrammed steak brand or a hot dog rack.
Season with style A list of barbecue tips and tricks wouldn’t be complete without a mention of sauces, rubs and marinades. These tasty additions add oomph to an ordinary piece of meat. You might try the sauces on your local grocer’s shelf, or get exotic and join a BBQ Sauce of the Month club.
Share your skills You’ve worked hard learning to barbecue like a pro, so don’t keep that rack of ribs all to yourself. Plan one night a week to grill out with your friends and show off your skills. Ask them to bring side dishes, drinks and desserts to help round out the menu. At least once a year, heat things up by hosting a grilling competition!

It’s all about strolling through the gardens, checking out what’s blooming, and bursting with colors. Sometimes, we bring along lunch and a cozy blanket, finding the perfect spot under a shady tree to take in the stunning views while enjoying our meal.
We also make sure to bring a ball or frisbee to play a couple of games on the expansive lawn. Of course, we never forget the iconic red bridge. Christina Hall and her husband Josh have a busy summer ahead.
An all-new season of “Christina on the Coast,” the Southern California-based HGTV docuseries that chronicles Christina’s home renovation and design business and family life, is set to debut June 29. In addition to transforming a new slate of clients’ coastal-inspired homes, Christina will also tackle a remodeling project inside the ultra-modern Newport Beach, CA, mansion she purchased in 2022 for $12 million.
“Now that Christina is settled in a new home closer to family and friends, the busy mom of three, author and entrepreneur also will tackle her own kitchen overhaul alongside husband Josh Hall,” according to a press release.
The property, built in 2021, is chock full of luxury touches like floor-to-ceiling windows, an “interstellar” home theater, and a lap pool. And although we have yet to get a good view of the kitchen, it’s hard to believe a home this new—and this deluxe—is worthy of a renovation. But that’s all the more reason to tune in.
Prior to buying in Newport Beach, Christina and Josh, who tied the knot in September 2022, put down roots in a modern farmhouse on 23 acres in Franklin, TN. The southern suburb of Nashville was their home base while filming the first season of “Christina in the Country,” the countrified spin-off that chronicled the HGTV stars expanding their business on the other side of the country.
Just in case you’re keeping track, Christina separated from her second husband, Ant Anstead, in September 2020, and their divorce became final in June. They had been married since December 2018, and stayed together for just under two years.
Christina explained on Instagram that she and Josh had been dating in strict privacy for “several months” prior to her going public with their relationship in July 2021.
“I met Josh when I wasn’t in a state of fear or fight-or-flight … I had taken time off social, hired a spiritual coach and smoked a Bufo toad (which basically reset my brain and kicked out years of anxiety in 15 mins),” Christina said on Instagram. “When we met this past spring, the synchronicities hit us so hard and fast they were impossible to ignore.”
In any case, Christina seems to dig romantic relationships with men in the real estate industry. Her first marriage, to her “Flip or Flop” co-host, Tarek El Moussa, lasted over ten years, and their TV series ended in 2022 after 10 seasons.
Ahead of the sixth season of “Christina on the Coast,” here are a few surprising facts every HGTV fan should know about Josh Hall.
1. He’s a real estate agent in Austin
Hall is a real estate agent at Spyglass Realty, having relocated to Austin, TX, in 2017 “after visiting and falling in love with its beauty,” he explained in his bio. “I just could not leave without buying a home of my own in this little slice of heaven. I was actually born not too far from Austin, at Ft. Hood Army base where my father was stationed.”
Yet while his bio and contact information used to be proudly displayed on Spyglass, all that’s there now is his square-jawed headshot. Could this mean that he may soon be moving into Christina’s gorgeous new Newport Beach home, and getting his real estate license in California? Perhaps. In fact, we wouldn’t be at all surprised if we soon see him in cameos (or more) in “Christina on the Coast.”
2. He’s not a real estate snob
A review of his Realtor.com® profile reveals that he was responsible for 15 home sales in the past two years, representing either the buyer or seller. The market in Austin has been feverish over the past two years, and Hall appears to have specialized in homes in the $200,000 to $900,000 range. Most are traditional, two- to four-bedroom houses, some on sizable lots measuring an acre or more.
No Instagram, no Facebook, no Twitter feed, not even LinkedIn for business purposes! Believe us, we looked. He may be the last remaining real estate agent of his generation who doesn’t at least promote his listings somewhere online.
Christina seems to like it that way, and we can’t blame her.
“The internet and social are great for businesses or staying up to date on fam / friends but also can be toxic and (let’s be real) pretty fake,” she wrote on Instagram. “Josh doesn’t have social media.”
4. He was formerly a cop—for all the right reasons
Hall’s bio also reveals this: “While living in southern California, I realized my passion was to help others and I became a police officer at the age of 21. Before my 16 year career was cut short due to injuries sustained in the line of duty and ultimately leading to an early retirement, I took great pride in helping people with everyday difficulties and putting them at ease.”
It seems he’ll once again be protecting Southern California properties and citizens, at least in a more personal way, as his future wife and three stepchildren all call Orange County home.
5. He loves dogs
In Hall’s spare time, he says, “You can find me exploring with my two dogs, floating on one of Austin’s many bodies of water or flying to rescue puppers from kill shelters.” Talk about a noble cause!
Since Christina already has two pups of her own, a Rottweiler named Biggie and a French bulldog named Cash, her Newport Beach home is already pet-friendly. But the question is, will Hall and his pack all fit inside their home—and on the family bed?
6. His sisters are reality TV–famous
Something else Hall and Christina have in common is reality TV. In fact, Hall’s younger sisters are deeply steeped in it. His sister Stacie Hall Adams appeared regularly on “The Hills” as Stacie the bartender. His sister Jessica was a former Playboy model, hosted the MTV reality series “Burned, and made regular appearances on “Kendra” and “Kendra on Top,” as the close friend of fellow Playboy star Kendra Wilkinson.
7. He has an uncanny link to Tarek El Moussa’s fiancee, Heather Rae Young
Hall’s sister Jessica now hosts the podcast “Flashbacks” solo, but she formerly hosted it with bestie Heather Rae Young of “Selling Sunset” fame. Yes, that Heather Rae Young, the one who’s engaged to El Moussa, Christina’s first husband. Hollywood is such a small town!
8. He’s inked to the brink
Oh, the tales Hall’s tattoos could tell, like what’s up with that hatted man adjacent to his left pec, and why the spiderweb on his left knee? He must have his reasons for them all, and he could spend countless hours in the telling.
9. He’s already close to Christina’s kids
He appears to already be fully accepted by Christina’s kids, at least her two oldest, Taylor and Brayden. A recent Instagram post revealed that the four of them spent a quick, kid-friendly weekend in Las Vegas: “24 hours in Las Vegas with the big kids—wave pool, aquarium, steak dinner repeat ❤️🎰.” Cheers to that!
10. Christina has his back
Don’t you dare be all judgy about Christina’ third engagement on social media, or Christina will come out swinging.
She’s posted several Instagram tirades, including this one: “People are way too concerned about other people’s lives. They spend so much time judging others to avoid working on their own sh*t … Life is short. Do what you love with the ones you love. For me, that’s Josh, my kids and a few close friends and co-workers. ✌🏼”
