FDIC insured commercial banks and savings institutions reported net income of $105.5 billion in 2007, a decline of $39.8 billion or 27.4 percent from the $145.2 billion earned in 2006, thanks in part to higher loan loss provisions tied to bad mortgages.
The FDIC also said fourth-quarter earnings dropped to just $5.8 billion, compared to profit of $35.2 billion a year ago, the lowest level since the fourth quarter of 1991.
“It’s no surprise to anyone that the second half of 2007 was a very tough period for the banking industry. Fourth quarter results were heavily influenced by a number of well-publicized write-downs by large banks,” said FDIC Chairman Sheila C. Bair, in a statement.
“Weakness in the housing sector and the credit squeeze in financial markets made it a very challenging time for many institutions. And we can expect these problems to continue in 2008.”
Despite the record decline, nearly half of all insured institutions reported increased net income in 2007, with six large institutions accounting for more than half of the year-over-year decline in quarterly net income.
At the same time, one out of every four institutions with assets greater than $10 billion reported a net loss during the quarter.
Total loan loss provisions were $68.2 billion, more than double the $29.5 billion set aside a year earlier, while trading revenue fell 78.4 percent to $4.1 billion from $14.9 billion in 2006.
A whopping 1.39 percent of industry’s loans were noncurrent (90 days or more past due or in nonaccrual status) at the end of the quarter, the highest percentage since the third quarter of 2002, and the largest quarterly increase in the 24 years data has been reported.
“A key issue that we’ll be focusing on in the months ahead is asset quality,” Chairman Bair said. “The rising trend in noncurrent loans indicates that write-offs and loss provisions will likely remain high for the near future.”
“We’ll also need to keep a close eye as we’ve been doing for a number of months on loan portfolios other than housing, including commercial real estate, credit cards, and small business. All of these are showing signs of stress as housing market weakness continues.”
So-called “problem” institutions made up 76 of the 8,533 FDIC-insured banks as of the end of 2007, up from 50 a year earlier.
Penny stocks offer a unique glimpse into the lesser-seen side of the stock market. These stocks, tied to small and sometimes obscure companies, present a blend of opportunity and challenge, attracting investors with their potential for high returns despite inherent risks.
In the history of penny stocks, there are tales of spectacular gains and equally dramatic losses, reflecting their unpredictable nature. This market segment appeals to a certain type of investor: one who is not just willing to take on risk, but who is also keen on conducting thorough research to unearth potential opportunities in overlooked corners of the market.
This introduction to penny stock trading aims to strike a balance between the excitement of potentially lucrative investments and the sober reality of the risks involved. As we delve into this topic, we’ll explore both the allure and the cautionary aspects of trading in penny stocks, offering insights for those curious about this intriguing area of finance.
What are penny stocks?
Penny stocks are defined by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as shares issued by small or micro-cap companies for any amount below $5 per share.
They typically trade on the over-the-counter (OTC) or dark market. But you may find some on U.S. securities exchanges, foreign exchanges, and in rare cases, on major stock exchanges.
They are designed for investors who can withstand a high level of risk, as the low price point is a tell-tale sign of bigger issues going on within the company. It could be anything from cash-flow issues to impending bankruptcy or fraud. You could also be dealing with a startup with little to no track record or a company with management woes.
Profit Potential in Penny Stocks: What to Expect
Penny stocks, often trading below $5 a share, can seem like a gateway to quick profits in the stock market. They’re attractive because of their low entry cost and the dream of buying a stock for pennies today that might be worth dollars tomorrow. However, it’s crucial to temper expectations with reality.
While there are occasional stories of penny stocks skyrocketing in value, these are more the exception than the rule. The overall success rate for investors in penny stocks is generally lower than in more traditional stock investments, largely due to their volatility and the opaque nature of many companies represented in this segment.
Navigating the Risks: The Realities of Penny Stock Investments
When considering penny stocks, it’s important to understand the risks involved. These stocks are known for their low liquidity, which means it might be difficult to sell your shares at the optimal time.
Moreover, the penny stock market is often a playground for manipulative tactics like ‘pump and dump’ schemes. In such scenarios, stock prices are artificially inflated through misleading or overly optimistic statements, only to be sold off by insiders at a profit, leaving other investors with losses.
What’s more, the lack of comprehensive financial information about these small or micro-cap companies adds another layer of risk. With less regulatory oversight compared to larger, more established stocks, it’s harder for investors to make fully informed decisions.
Making Informed Decisions
If you’re considering diving into the world of penny stocks, it’s vital to do your homework. Thorough research and a well-thought-out strategy are key. Look for penny stock companies with solid fundamentals, transparent business models, and potential for growth.
Be wary of stocks that exhibit sudden price jumps without any underlying business changes. Remember, a disciplined and patient approach, along with a readiness to react to market changes, is essential in navigating the high-risk, high-reward world of penny stock trading.
How to Get Started with Penny Stocks
Step 1: Conduct Thorough Research
Before you jump into penny stocks, it’s essential to do your homework. Start by understanding what penny stocks are and how they differ from traditional stocks. Research the companies behind these stocks thoroughly.
Look into their financial health, business models, and market potential. Pay special attention to their balance sheets, earnings reports, and any news that could affect their stock prices. Remember, information is power in the world of investing, and this is especially true for penny stocks.
Step 2: Set Realistic Investment Goals
Determine what you want to achieve with penny stocks. Are you looking for quick profits, or are you more interested in long-term growth? Setting clear and realistic goals will help guide your investment decisions and keep your expectations in check. Be aware that while penny stocks offer the possibility of high returns, they also come with a high risk of loss.
Step 3: Choose the Right Trading Platform
Select a trading platform or broker that caters to penny stock investors. Look for platforms with low fees, as penny stocks are typically low-value investments and high transaction costs can eat into your profits.
Ensure the platform provides adequate tools and resources for researching penny stocks. Some platforms may have restrictions or higher fees for trading penny stocks, so it’s crucial to read the fine print before making your choice.
Step 4: Start Small and Diversify
When you’re ready to start trading, begin with a small investment to test the waters. Penny stocks are highly volatile, so it’s wise not to put all your eggs in one basket. Diversify your investments across different stocks and sectors to spread the risk. Remember, diversification is a key strategy in mitigating risk in any investment portfolio.
Step 5: Learn from Mistakes and Stay Updated
Even the most seasoned investors make mistakes, especially in the unpredictable world of penny stocks. Take note of any missteps and learn from them. Stay updated on market trends and news that could impact your investments. Continuous learning and adapting your strategy based on your experiences and market changes are crucial for success when investing in penny stocks.
Common Mistakes to Avoid With Penny Stocks
Falling for hype: One of the biggest traps with penny stocks is getting swayed by hype. Avoid making decisions based on promotional emails or hot tips without doing your own research.
Ignoring red flags: Don’t overlook red flags like inconsistent financials, frequent changes in company leadership, or lack of transparent information.
Overtrading: Resist the urge to trade too frequently. Overtrading can lead to impulsive decisions and increased transaction costs.
Neglecting exit strategy: Always have an exit strategy for each investment. Decide in advance at what point you will sell, whether to capture profits or cut losses.
How to Find Promising Penny Stocks: Effective Strategies
Locating promising penny stocks is a nuanced process. While some penny stocks are available on major stock exchanges like Nasdaq, most are traded over-the-counter (OTC). Understanding where and how to find these stocks is crucial for potential success in this high-risk, high-reward market.
Explore OTC Markets and Major Exchanges
Most penny stocks are traded on OTC markets such as the Over-the-Counter Bulletin Board (OTCBB) and Pink Sheets, where listing requirements are less stringent than on exchanges. However, some penny stocks are also listed on larger exchanges like Nasdaq, adhering to their stricter regulations and offering slightly more stability. Familiarizing yourself with both OTC and large exchanges broadens your scope for finding potential stock picks.
Leverage Financial Information Sources
To aid in your search, utilize financial information sources like Google Finance or Yahoo Finance. These platforms provide valuable data on OTC stocks, including price movements, volumes, and company news. They are excellent starting points for initial research and tracking stock performance.
Selecting the Right Broker for Penny Stock Trading
Choosing a broker that aligns with your goals is crucial. Consider factors like fee structures, trade surcharges, volume restrictions, and trading limitations. Broker fees, especially for low-value transactions like penny stocks, can significantly impact your profits. Ensure the broker you choose allows you to trade penny stocks, as not all do.
Assessing Broker Resources and Tools
In addition to fee structures, assess the resources and tools each broker offers. Some brokers provide specialized resources for penny stock traders, such as advanced screening tools, research reports, and educational content. These can be invaluable in helping you make informed decisions.
Tips for Choosing a Broker
Compare fee structures: Look for brokers with low fees and surcharges for buying penny stocks.
Check for volume restrictions: Ensure the broker doesn’t impose restrictive trading limits that could hinder your strategy.
Research broker reputation: Choose a broker with a good reputation for customer service and reliability.
Evaluate educational resources: Consider brokers that offer educational materials and resources specifically designed for penny stock traders.
Finding the Best Broker for Your Penny Stock Investments
When it comes to choosing the best broker for penny stocks, there isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer. The ideal broker varies based on individual trading styles, preferences, and goals. Here’s a comprehensive list of the best online brokers for stock trading of 2023 can be a great starting point.
It’s important to verify that the brokers you’re considering do indeed offer penny stock trading, as not all brokers provide this service. Make sure to choose a broker that aligns with your investment strategy and provides the necessary tools and resources for penny stock investors.
Risks and Considerations of Penny Stock Trading
Before you dive into the world of penny stocks, there are some risks you should be aware of.
Trade Volume and Fees
It’s no secret. The trading volume for penny stocks is relatively low because of their risky nature, so you may find it difficult to buy and sell at the most optimal times. You also want to pay attention to the fees that brokers sometimes tack on to penny stock trades.
If you find that they are substantially higher than what you’d pay to trade regular shares, move on to brokers that don’t employ this practice.
Exchanges
If the shares aren’t listed on a major exchange, like the NYSE or Nasdaq, proceed with caution as the regulations are little to non-existent. In turn, you have much more to lose, as there’s no way to gauge how the penny stock company will perform in the short or long term with little information to go on.
Return on investment
When trading stocks, there’s no guarantee that you’ll turn a profit. In fact, the odds definitely aren’t in your favor if the company the shares are tied to is in the midst of a financial storm or rough patch.
While this isn’t a definitive nail in the coffin, you have to think about the time between the purchase of shares and when the penny stock price appreciates and if it’s worth the wait. This could take months, if not years.
Penny Stock Scams
Be on the lookout for scam artists that promise to make you wealthy from trading penny stocks overnight. They do this by promoting a particular penny stock heavily or issuing warnings that a particular penny stock should be avoided at all costs. Either way, these deceptive marketing tactics can drive stock prices up or down in a jiffy and wreck your earning potential.
Strategies for Trading Penny Stocks Successfully
Setting clear goals and risk tolerance
Ensure that you clearly understand your investment goals and risk tolerance before you get started. This can help guide your decision-making and ensure that you are comfortable with the level of risk you are taking on.
Using stop loss orders and other risk management techniques
Stop loss orders and other risk management techniques can help to limit potential losses in penny stock trading. These techniques can help to protect your investment and keep you from making rash decisions in the face of market volatility.
Being patient and disciplined in decision-making
Successful penny stock investors are often disciplined and patient. They take the time to thoroughly research potential investments, avoid the temptation to chase after quick gains, and stick to a well-thought-out trading plan.
Bottom Line
Penny stock trading offers a unique blend of risks and rewards, appealing to those willing to navigate its volatile waters. It’s crucial to approach this market with thorough research, a clear strategy, and realistic expectations. Remember, while the potential for high returns exists, so does the risk of significant losses.
Your Next Steps
Educate yourself further: Continuously expand your knowledge about penny stocks. Resources like financial websites, investment books, and online courses can provide deeper insights.
Stay informed: Keep up with market trends and news. Regularly visit financial news platforms and consider subscribing to newsletters focused on penny stocks.
Connect with a community: Engage with online forums or local investment groups where you can exchange ideas and learn from experienced penny stock traders.
Trading penny stocks isn’t for everyone, but with the right approach, it can be a rewarding part of your investment portfolio. Always invest wisely, understand the risks involved, and never stop learning.

Unfortunately, with many work from home careers, there are a lot of scams. But, that doesn’t mean that data entry isn’t real.

Data entry is often an entry-level job and is relatively easy to get started with. If you don’t have trouble with typing accurately and inputting data, then you most likely won’t have a problem with finding work at home data entry jobs.

Can I do data entry with my phone?
Okay, so I hear this question all the time. And, I get it – being able to work from your phone would be great.
Depending on the job, you can possibly do data entry from your smartphone, but it won’t be nearly as efficient and easy as doing this kind of work on a computer.
The small screen size on your phone makes data entry more challenging, and your typing will be much slower compared to working on a laptop. Plus, some software may not be available on your phone.

What’s your best place to find work from home data entry jobs?
Angelo Mozilo defended his compensation plan before the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform today, explaining how he built Countrywide from the ground up and based his pay largely on performance.
“My personal experience as a CEO is unlike that of many other American CEOs,” said Mozilo. “As a founder of the company, I was not brought in to serve as the CEO of an existing major enterprise, nor did I start out as an employee of an established company and then work my way up.”
“We shared a dream to create the first national mortgage banking company focused on providing homeownership opportunities to all Americans, including families who had been largely left behind by traditional mortgage lenders,” he said.
The former Countrywide boss went on to say that the Board and shareholders agreed upon a compensation plan for executives that would be performance based, and because the company was so successful, his earnings skyrocketed.
“From 1982 through April 2007, our stock price appreciated over 23,000 %. As a result, earlier in this decade, I received substantial income from performance based bonuses earned under a formula based on earnings per share,” he said.
“In short, as our company did well, I did well.”
Mozilo noted that his holdings had increased in value as the stock continued to march higher, and it wasn’t until 2004 that he began dumping shares as part of his planned retirement.
“In December 2004, in consultation with my financial advisor as we prepared for my retirement, I exercised a number of outstanding options, a significant number of which were about to expire, and sold the underlying stock pursuant to plans established with the advice of counsel.”
Despite this, Mozilo said he is still one of the company’s largest individual shareholders, because he believes in the company.
Lastly, he added he would not receive a bonus for 2007 or 2008, and that he decided to forego his severance pay to ensure the Bank of America purchase isn’t complicated as a result.
“I voluntarily gave up these benefits because I did not want this issue to detract from, or in any way to impede, the important task of completing the Bank of America transaction, one that I believe is critical for our employees, our shareholders, our customers and the economy in general,” he concluded.
Read the full testimony.
The Committee on Oversight and Government Reform has a report chock full of questions regarding Mozilo’s steep pay, ranging from his decision to sell shares while the company was borrowing money to repurchase shares, to a flawed “peer group” that inflated his level of compensation.

1. Use Multiple Savings Accounts
Having a different savings account for each one of your goals — whether it’s a new car, a down payment on a house, or even a big vacation — can be a great way to keep track of your progress. If you only have one account, it can be difficult to know what money is earmarked for which goal. For example, if you have $15,000 in your savings account, it may be hard to track that you have $5,000 saved for an emergency fund and $10,000 for a home purchase.
Separate savings accounts makes it easier to prioritize the goals you’re eager to reach, allowing you to fund those accounts first. It also decreases the chances you will raid the account to cover another expense. If an account is clearly labeled Emergency Fund, you may think twice about using it for a trip to Tulum.
And since many banks now offer savings accounts that feature the same interest rate, no matter how low your balance, you don’t need to put all your savings in the same account to get the highest yield.
💡 Quick Tip: Help your money earn more money! Opening a bank account online often gets you higher-than-average rates.
2. Ditch Your Low-Interest Savings Account
Is there anything better than money you don’t have to work for? The interest you’re paid for keeping money in a bank account is basically that. If you’re still using your first savings account, however, chances are you’re getting a low interest rate.
Right now, the best online savings account interest rates are around 5%. Traditional brick-and-mortar banks, on the other hand, generally offer rates that are close to the national average, which is currently 0.46%. If you have a $10,000 savings balance, choosing an account that pays 5% will earn you about $500 in a year. If it stays in a bank account that pays 0.40% APY, you would earn about $40. The difference increases the more you deposit and the longer you keep the money in the account.
Failing to open a high-interest savings account means you’re giving up free money.

3. Put Saving on Autopilot
Automating your savings is a great way to separate your savings from your spending without any extra effort on your part. If you wait to see what you have left at the end of the month to make a manual transfer to savings, you may forget or, worse, you may have nothing left to move.
There are two ways to automate your savings: One is to split up your direct deposit and funnel part of it into a savings account; the other is to set up a recurring transfer from your checking account into a savings account for the same day each month (ideally right after you get paid). If you have different savings accounts for different goals, you can choose to have a set amount for each account.
4. Pay Down High-Interest Debts
Credit card annual percentage rates (APRs) are now averaging a record 28.93%, up from 26.72 percent in 2022. To whittle down high-interest debt, consider making at least one extra payment on your credit cards per month. If you have multiple balances, here are two ways to knock them down:
• The snowball method With this approach, you make your extra payment on your smallest debt, while maintaining minimum payments on the others. When that debt is paid off, you focus on paying off the next-smallest debt, and so on.
• The avalanche method Here, you put your extra payment towards the debt with the highest interest rate, while making minimum payments on the others. When that debt is paid off, you focus on the debt with the next-highest rate, and so on. The money you save in interest payments can then go towards saving (and earning interest).
5. Audit Your Subscriptions
There’s a good chance you are paying monthly for things you no longer need or use. To find out, review your credit card or bank statement to see what subscriptions services you’re paying for each month. Do you have cable, but only watch streaming services like Netflix and Hulu? Are you paying for streaming services you never, or rarely, watch? You might also audit your music services — if you are paying for more than one, you might keep your fave and get rid of the others.
The monthly fee for each streaming service may seem small but, when you pay it every month, year after year, it can seriously add up.

6. Put a Free Budgeting App on Your Phone
Keeping tabs on how much is going in and going out of your accounts is crucial to financial wellness. But who wants to spend hours coming through statements? A budgeting app does the work for you, and many are free (at least for the basic service).
Popular budgeting apps, like Goodbudget, EveryDollar, and PocketGuard, allow you to connect with your financial accounts (including bank accounts, credit cards, and investment accounts) and give you a bird’s eye view of your finances. Right from your phone, you can see what’s in your bank account, your current credit card balance, what you’re spending the most money on, how your spending compares to last month, and more. This can be eye-opening and help you make smarter financial decisions.
💡 Quick Tip: Want a simple way to save more everyday? When you turn on Roundups, all of your debit card purchases are automatically rounded up to the next dollar and deposited into your online savings account.
7. Practice the 3-Day Rule
Online shopping has made it easier than ever to impulse buy. You’re only one click away from a new jacket, blender, or television. So try this smart spending hack: Whenever you see something you want to buy, either online or in-person, DO NOT buy it that day. Put the purchase on pause for at least three days. Tell yourself that if, after three days, you still want the item, and you can afford it, you’ll buy it. This gives you time to reflect. You may well decide that you don’t need or want the item that badly. If you’re worried about missing a “one-day” or “flash” sale, don’t — retailers run sales all the time.

8. Use Cash
This may sound counterintuitive, but spending cash can actually help you save money. The reason: When you spend in cash, you actually have to physically give up your money when you spend it, unlike with a credit or debit card.
You might try taking out a set amount of money for discretionary spending for the week, and when the money is done, you’re done spending. Or, consider using the envelope budgeting system, where you take out a certain amount of cash for the week and divide it into envelopes for food, gas, etc. As you see the money go down in each envelope, you’ll have to think hard about every purchase.
9. Gradually Boost Retirement Savings
. You may have heard that you “should” be putting 15% of your income into your 401(k) or other retirement fund each year. It’s a solid goal. But for many young people, it may not be remotely realistic. That said, you shouldn’t give up on the whole idea. Why not try baby steps? You might start by putting just 1% of each paycheck into your retirement fund, then increase it by 1% every three to six months.
While 1% is a small percentage of your annual earnings today, after 20 or 30 years it can make a big difference in your account balance when you retire. That’s because the longer you give your money a chance to grow, the better.

The Takeaway
Getting a better handle on your finances may perennially be on your to-do list. The problem is that this goal can seem too vague and too overwhelming to even know where to begin. The good news is that you don’t have to overhaul your personal finances overnight. Simply adopting some smart money habits (or hacks) can snowball into long-term financial stability and wealth. And there’s no better time to start than today.
Interested in opening an online bank account? When you sign up for a SoFi Checking and Savings account with direct deposit, you’ll get a competitive annual percentage yield (APY), pay zero account fees, and enjoy an array of rewards, such as access to the Allpoint Network of 55,000+ fee-free ATMs globally. Qualifying accounts can even access their paycheck up to two days early.
Better banking is here with up to 4.60% APY on SoFi Checking and Savings.
SoFi members with direct deposit activity can earn 4.60% annual percentage yield (APY) on savings balances (including Vaults) and 0.50% APY on checking balances. Direct Deposit means a deposit to an account holder’s SoFi Checking or Savings account, including payroll, pension, or government payments (e.g., Social Security), made by the account holder’s employer, payroll or benefits provider or government agency (“Direct Deposit”) via the Automated Clearing House (“ACH”) Network during a 30-day Evaluation Period (as defined below). Deposits that are not from an employer or government agency, including but not limited to check deposits, peer-to-peer transfers (e.g., transfers from PayPal, Venmo, etc.), merchant transactions (e.g., transactions from PayPal, Stripe, Square, etc.), and bank ACH funds transfers and wire transfers from external accounts, do not constitute Direct Deposit activity. There is no minimum Direct Deposit amount required to qualify for the stated interest rate.
SoFi members with Qualifying Deposits can earn 4.60% APY on savings balances (including Vaults) and 0.50% APY on checking balances. Qualifying Deposits means one or more deposits that, in the aggregate, are equal to or greater than $5,000 to an account holder’s SoFi Checking and Savings account (“Qualifying Deposits”) during a 30-day Evaluation Period (as defined below). Qualifying Deposits only include those deposits from the following eligible sources: (i) ACH transfers, (ii) inbound wire transfers, (iii) peer-to-peer transfers (i.e., external transfers from PayPal, Venmo, etc. and internal peer-to-peer transfers from a SoFi account belonging to another account holder), (iv) check deposits, (v) instant funding to your SoFi Bank Debit Card, (vi) push payments to your SoFi Bank Debit Card, and (vii) cash deposits. Qualifying Deposits do not include: (i) transfers between an account holder’s Checking account, Savings account, and/or Vaults; (ii) interest payments; (iii) bonuses issued by SoFi Bank or its affiliates; or (iv) credits, reversals, and refunds from SoFi Bank, N.A. (“SoFi Bank”) or from a merchant.
SoFi Bank shall, in its sole discretion, assess each account holder’s Direct Deposit activity and Qualifying Deposits throughout each 30-Day Evaluation Period to determine the applicability of rates and may request additional documentation for verification of eligibility. The 30-Day Evaluation Period refers to the “Start Date” and “End Date” set forth on the APY Details page of your account, which comprises a period of 30 calendar days (the “30-Day Evaluation Period”). You can access the APY Details page at any time by logging into your SoFi account on the SoFi mobile app or SoFi website and selecting either (i) Banking > Savings > Current APY or (ii) Banking > Checking > Current APY. Upon receiving a Direct Deposit or $5,000 in Qualifying Deposits to your account, you will begin earning 4.60% APY on savings balances (including Vaults) and 0.50% on checking balances on or before the following calendar day. You will continue to earn these APYs for (i) the remainder of the current 30-Day Evaluation Period and through the end of the subsequent 30-Day Evaluation Period and (ii) any following 30-day Evaluation Periods during which SoFi Bank determines you to have Direct Deposit activity or $5,000 in Qualifying Deposits without interruption.
SoFi Bank reserves the right to grant a grace period to account holders following a change in Direct Deposit activity or Qualifying Deposits activity before adjusting rates. If SoFi Bank grants you a grace period, the dates for such grace period will be reflected on the APY Details page of your account. If SoFi Bank determines that you did not have Direct Deposit activity or $5,000 in Qualifying Deposits during the current 30-day Evaluation Period and, if applicable, the grace period, then you will begin earning the rates earned by account holders without either Direct Deposit or Qualifying Deposits until you have Direct Deposit activity or $5,000 in Qualifying Deposits in a subsequent 30-Day Evaluation Period. For the avoidance of doubt, an account holder with both Direct Deposit activity and Qualifying Deposits will earn the rates earned by account holders with Direct Deposit.
Members without either Direct Deposit activity or Qualifying Deposits, as determined by SoFi Bank, during a 30-Day Evaluation Period and, if applicable, the grace period, will earn 1.20% APY on savings balances (including Vaults) and 0.50% APY on checking balances.
Interest rates are variable and subject to change at any time. These rates are current as of 10/24/2023. There is no minimum balance requirement. Additional information can be found at http://www.sofi.com/legal/banking-rate-sheet..

Companies issue earnings frequently, often on a quarterly basis. But knowing how to read an earnings report isn’t easy, and it requires a bit of legwork to get up to speed and understand the financials that businesses are reporting. Even so, it can be important, as those financials may help dictate your next investment moves.
Again, by learning how to read an earnings report, you could unlock invaluable information about the state of a company over time, as well as come to your own conclusions about whether the company’s stock is a worthwhile buy for you.
The Basics of Earnings Reports
When you invest in a stock, you are investing in a small sliver of ownership in a publicly traded company. To be publicly traded, companies are required to file quarterly (and annual) financial statements with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
For the uninitiated, looking at an earnings report may be akin to trying to read hieroglyphics. But you can break down the essentials and with some practice, it should all start to make sense.
Understanding the Essentials of Earnings Reports
Again, earnings reports are financial filings that keep shareholders and regulators apprised of the financial and legal standing of a company, typically filed quarterly. Financial transparency also allows current and potential investors to make decisions about the company through their own analysis and judgment.
Earnings reports contain information about company performance and critical metrics such as profits and revenue (or similar terms, like “net income”), and how those metrics compare to previous quarters or years. They also generally include some guidance or comments from company leadership.
The Timing of Earnings Releases
Generally, when you hear someone speaking of a general “earnings report,” they are referring to the forms 10-Q and 10-K, which are quarterly and annual financial filings, respectively. Both disclose a company’s revenue, expenses, profit, and other financial information each quarter.
The Anatomy of an Earnings Report
Some earnings reports are more in-depth than others, but they tend to all have at least some common elements. That includes an income statement (which, again, contains information related to profits, revenues, and losses), balance sheet, cash flow statement insights, and a statement of shareholder equity, which could be a breakdown of a company’s complete financial picture, along with assets and liabilities. In all, the report could be dozens of pages long.
Going deeper, here are some of the key elements.
Income Statement: How much money a company made over a period of time. Usually, the current quarter’s information is compared to previous quarters or multiple quarters.
Balance Sheet: What a company owns and what they owe—its assets and liabilities.
Cash Flow Statement: This section details the exchange of money between the company and the outside world over a given period of time.
Statement of Shareholder Equity: Changes of interest for the company’s shareholders over a given period of time. Here, you’ll find information on the value of all outstanding shares along with the potential dividend payment made by the company during the previous quarter(s).
For many investors, the income statement is of particular interest. This document details how much a company earns, how much it spends, and how profitable it is over a certain period of time. These numbers can reveal a lot about where a business is at and where they’re headed. 💡 Quick Tip: Investment fees are assessed in different ways, including trading costs, account management fees, and possibly broker commissions. When you set up an investment account, be sure to get the exact breakdown of your “all-in costs” so you know what you’re paying.
Beyond the Numbers: Interpreting Earnings Reports
Understanding the basics of an earnings report is one thing. Using what’s gleaned from those reports is another.
Reading Between the Financial Lines
What does an earnings report actually tell you, as an investor? It’s not always so clear. In that sense, it’s important to try and put the numbers in the report into context so that it can help you plan your next market move – if you make one at all.
Looking deeper at the financials, though, here are some key terms and items to look for, which are typically found in the income statement.
Revenue: A company’s sales. This is also known as the “top line,” because it sits at the top of the cash flow statement. This figure does not take into account the costs of running a business, so may not be the best indicator as to the overall financial health of a company.
Cost of Revenue/Cost of Sales: Directly under the revenue or sales figure you’ll find a section that details the costs of producing the goods sold, such as production and manufacturing. To be clear, these are not all of the costs associated with running a business, only the costs directly associated with the sale of the product or service.
Below this figure, you will find the section referred to as “gross profit” or “gross margin,” which is the cost of revenue subtracted from the revenue. It is called “gross” because the figure is not net of all costs associated with running a business—only the costs associated with sales.
Operating Expenses: These are the costs of running a business that cannot necessarily be attributed to a company’s operations for a given period. Research and development, marketing expenses, and salaries of administrative personnel are all examples.
Here, it is possible to account for depreciation expenses, such as the wear and tear on assets such as machinery and tools or other assets that are used over long periods of time.
At this point in the cash flow statement, a company may account for adjustments to income due to interest earnings or expenses (such as earning interest in a savings account or paying interest on debts) or income taxes. Sometimes, this information is listed separately.
Earnings: This is a company’s profits, also known as the net income or “bottom line,” because earnings exist at the bottom of the cash flow statement after all costs are subtracted. This is the money that the company made in the previous quarter after all costs of running the business are accounted for. Ultimately, this is going to be the number that most concerns shareholders, as a profitable business model is what attracts many investors.
Not all businesses are profitable all of the time, so it is possible that an earnings number can reflect a loss. When a company is recording a loss, the number is written inside of parentheses.
Earnings Per Share (EPS): While the earnings figure is certainly important, it’s helpful to have some context as to what that means to investors. The EPS calculation divides the earnings figure by the number of outstanding shares to derive a figure that represents what it would look like if those earnings were to be evenly spread across all shareholders.
For example, an EPS number of $1 would indicate a $1 earning per share of outstanding stock. However, a $1 EPS does not necessarily mean that’s what the company pays out to each shareholder.
Instead, it’s a way for investors to compare profitability across businesses within the same industry, to a business’s past profitability, or to expectations for a company’s future profitability. More than anything, it is used as a tool for analysis.
For a more qualitative look at a business, you could take a look at the section titled Management’s Discussion and Analysis. Here, executives summarize both the numbers detailed in the financial statements and what’s going on in the business that might not be outwardly obvious simply by looking at the numbers.
For example, executives could take this time to discuss a merger or other market factors that may have led to skewed numbers for that quarter.
Assessing Financial Risk Factors in Reports
All businesses are facing some sort of risk, be it from growing competition in a specific sector, or increasing interest rates. Often, company leadership might discuss those risks in the commentary in an earnings release, or in an accompanying earnings call. Other times, investors can suss out potential risk in the numbers themselves (are revenues in a specific area falling, and why?). The important thing to know is that if businesses are facing some sort of risk, investors may be able to find clues as to how big of a threat those risks are in the filings.
The Earnings Season Explained
Investors are likely to become familiar with the term “earnings season,” and for good reason.
What is Earnings Season and Why it Matters
Earnings season refers to the four times during the year when companies release quarterly earnings reports, and many of them tend to do so around the same time. As such, it’s a sort of “season,” as investors get to dig through several earnings reports and try to suss out trends and make decisions regarding their portfolios.
The Impact of Earnings Reports on Stock Prices
Earnings season can be a volatile time for stock prices, as a company’s performance, put on paper and released to the world, allows everyone to see how it’s doing – and decide whether to buy, sell, or hold their stock. As such, an unexpected earnings report – good or bad – can create volatility in the market. That’s why investors will want to pay attention around earnings season.
Earnings Calls: What to Expect
Investors are able to take part in earnings calls, which often requires tuning in either online or by phone. While every earnings call is different, they tend to have the same elements: Company management (usually the CEO or another C-suite executive) discusses the top-line financial results for the period, and then discusses what’s ahead. 💡 Quick Tip: Look for an online brokerage with low trading commissions as well as no account minimum. Higher fees can cut into investment returns over time.
Getting the Most Out of Earnings Reports
As an investor, you’ll want to do what you can with the latest earnings reports. That includes pulling out the most pertinent information, knowing what to anticipate, and then synthesizing it all into actionable insights.
Analyzing the Report: TL;DR for Financial Reports
For most investors, the top-line financials, and perhaps any comments from company leadership, are the most important things to check out in an earnings report. For instance: did the company generate a profit? Was it more or less than expected? Are executives bullish or bearish about the coming quarter? If you’re strapped for time, those are the things you’ll want to know as an investor.
Upcoming Earnings Report Calls: What to Anticipate
Companies generally announce earnings calls well in advance – sometimes even months in advance. That gives investors plenty of time to plan to attend, and to make any pre-earnings market moves. It may be a good idea to read financial media or analyst reports, too, to get a sense of what to expect. Expectations are a huge element in the market, and even if a company reports strong numbers, they may be below expectations, causing share values to fall.
Leveraging Earnings Reports
At the end of the day (or earnings season), earnings reports are tools that investors can use to plan their next moves and hone in their investment strategy. But there are also sub-strategies that they can use during earnings season, too.
Strategies for Investors During Earnings Season
While some investors may find it profitable to day-trade or even swap options during earnings season, many investors may want to try and get a sense of where expectations lie, and position themselves accordingly. For instance, if expectations are that a company’s report will show it lost money, then an investor may want to sell their holdings, anticipating a fall in share prices the day earnings come out.
The opposite can also be true, however. Perhaps the safest play, though, is to stick to a buy-and-hold strategy, and not let any market volatility – earnings-induced, or otherwise – change that strategy.
Things to Consider for Quarterly Reports
As noted, considering top-line financial metrics and company leadership’s posturing is important for investors. But you may also want to think about the context of the earnings report – which quarter, or time of the year is it covering, for instance. If a retail company reports strong Q4 earnings, for instance, that may have been influenced by the holiday shopping season.
Or, if a food company is struggling with higher costs during the summer because of a drought causing shortages, that’s something else. There are lots and lots of factors that can affect a company’s performance.
Using Earnings Reports to Forecast Market Trends
It may be tempting to try and use earnings reports to forecast market trends, but tread carefully – nobody knows what the market is going to do next. There may be some things to be gleaned about what the future holds, but be careful and perhaps consider consulting with a financial professional before making any moves based on hunches.
Again, earnings reports are critical tools and troves of information for investors, but they are backward-looking, and the world is a wild place – you never know what’s going to happen next.

The Bilt World Elite Mastercard® Credit Card is best known for its unique standout feature: the ability to earn rewards with no transaction fee when paying rent. Indeed, the Bilt credit card is a game-changer for renters. Beyond rent, though, how does Bilt compare with a more traditional general-purpose credit card like the Wells Fargo Autograph℠ Card?
Both cards carry no annual fee. They both earn 3 points per $1 spent on dining, offer cell phone protection and certain travel protections, plus charge no foreign transaction fees. But in most other respects, the benefits of these two cards couldn’t be more different.
The Wells Fargo Autograph℠ Card offers a compelling sign-up bonus and introductory APR, while the Bilt World Elite Mastercard® Credit Card offers neither. But the Bilt credit card, along with its most obvious benefit for renters, earns points that can be transferred to various hotel and airline travel partners, giving the potential for outsize value. Currently, the Autograph offers no such transfers.
Let’s dig into the specifics of each card so you can make the right pick for your lifestyle.

Why the Bilt World Elite Mastercard® Credit Card is better for renters and travelers
Pay rent with a credit card
The Bilt World Elite Mastercard® Credit Card‘s standout feature is its ability to earn rewards on rent payments without any transaction fees. That’s a unicorn in the credit card world, as most cards can’t be used directly toward rent payments without such fees. Previously, renters looking to pile up credit card rewards relied on intermediary services like Plastiq, whose high fees cut into any rewards earned.
Though the benefit caps out at 100,000 points per year, this still makes the Bilt World Elite Mastercard® Credit Card the obvious choice for renters looking to get more out of their biggest monthly expense. Even if you don’t live in a property that’s part of the Bilt network, you can still charge rent on the card (with no transaction fees) and they’ll mail a check to your landlord.
Transfer to travel partners
Both cards earn points, but only points earned from the Bilt World Elite Mastercard® Credit Card have the potential for higher value toward travel. Points earned from the Wells Fargo Autograph℠ Card are worth 1 cent each and can be redeemed for travel, gift cards or statement credits — or when checking out online with PayPal.
Bilt Points are also versatile and can be used toward rent, fitness classes, home decor and even a home downpayment, for varying value. But as a card with no annual fee, the Bilt World Elite Mastercard® Credit Card stands out for its ability to transfer points at a 1:1 ratio to a wide range of travel partners. Travelers often find greater value than 1 cent each for their points when they transfer this way.
This is a rare perk among no-fee cards, most of which require pairing with a higher-fee card to transfer points. For example, Chase Freedom Flex℠ cardholders can transfer points to travel partners only if they also carry a higher fee card like the $95-annual-fee Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card.
Plus, Bilt’s list of travel partners is excellent, including American Airlines, United, Hyatt and IHG. In fact, despite American Airlines issuing co-branded credit cards with both Citibank and Barclays, neither issuer allows transfers of its points to the airline. Here’s a look at the full list of available transfers:

Bonus points in several categories, with an extra boost on “Rent Day”
Beyond rent payments, the Bilt World Elite Mastercard® Credit Card earns solid rewards on a variety of everyday expenses. That includes 5x points on Lyft rides, 3x points on dining, 2x points on travel and 1x on all other purchases.
But Bilt’s biggest benefit to cardholders comes on the first day of each month, when point values double for all nonrent categories, up to a cap of 10,000 bonus points per month. On that day, Bilt World Elite Mastercard® Credit Card holders earn 6x points on dining, 4x on travel purchases and 2x on everything else.
Why you may prefer the Wells Fargo Autograph℠ Card

Like many more traditional rewards credit cards, the Wells Fargo Autograph℠ Card greets new users with an attractive new cardholder bonus: Limited Time Offer: Earn 30,000 bonus points when you spend $1,500 in purchases in the first 3 months – that’s a $300 cash redemption value.
The Bilt World Elite Mastercard® Credit Card, on the other hand, offers no bonus for new cardholders, meaning it will take longer to rack up the same level of rewards.
Pay over time with 0% introductory APR
The Wells Fargo Autograph℠ Card is also the better pick for cardholders who need to finance purchases over time. Currently, new cardholders will get 0% intro APR on Purchases for 12 months from account opening, and then the ongoing APR of 20.24%, 25.24%, or 29.99% Variable APR .
Since the Bilt World Elite Mastercard® Credit Card doesn’t offer an introductory interest rate, it’s a less attractive choice for cardholders who need some breathing room on interest.
Earn higher rewards on travel, gas stations and streaming services
Both cards earn 3x points at restaurants, but the Wells Fargo Autograph℠ Card wins by a nose on travel purchases, earning 3x points per $1 spent compared with 2x with Bilt.
The Autograph also earns 3x points on certain popular streaming services and phone plans. Bilt’s baseline earnings rate for these categories is just 1 point per $1 spent — but you can bump that up to 2x points per dollar by setting these recurring bills to be charged on the first of every month.
When it comes to fueling your vehicle, though, the Autograph really races ahead on rewards, earning 3x points at gas stations and EV charging stations. For comparison, the Bilt World Elite Mastercard® Credit Card earns a modest 1 point per dollar spent in these categories.
Potential tie-breakers
Still can’t decide which card is right for you? Here are a few minor points of distinction to consider.
Simplicity of earning rewards
A major downside of the Bilt World Elite Mastercard® Credit Card is its transaction requirement. According to the card’s terms, you must complete five transactions per billing period to earn any rewards. That means if you only make four transactions on the card one month, you won’t earn rewards on any of those purchases. There’s no minimum spend per transaction, but this does present an extra hoop to make sure you maximize your rewards.
The Wells Fargo Autograph℠ Card won’t earn you rewards on rent, but it also doesn’t include any such complicated requirements.
Metal vs. plastic
If you have strong preferences about the feel of the card, it’s worth noting that the Bilt World Elite Mastercard® Credit Card comes in a sleek metal design, adding some sophistication to your wallet. The Wells Fargo Autograph℠ Card is plastic, making it a lighter weight to carry.
Which card should you get?
The distinction here is pretty clear. If you’re a renter, the Bilt World Elite Mastercard® Credit Card is the obvious choice. No other card offers comparable rewards on rent payments, and the card’s additional rewards plus travel partners make it a good value on everyday spending as well.
Not a renter? The Wells Fargo Autograph℠ Card will provide more overall value on everyday spending.
Then again, given that both cards carry no annual fee, renters with good credit may choose to pick up one of each. Use the Bilt World Elite Mastercard® Credit Card for rent, Lyft rides and to pick up extra rewards on the first day of each month. For the rest of the month, the Wells Fargo Autograph℠ Card will earn you higher rewards in most categories, along with a strong intro APR and sign-up bonus.

How to Make Money on KashKick
KashKick is a money making app with many different ways to make money. Some different ways include:
1. Take surveys
One of the top ways to earn on KashKick is by answering surveys.
These surveys are given by different market research companies or brands who are looking for opinions from normal people like me and you. By paying for surveys, these companies can learn how to improve their product, their advertising, and more.
The amount you can earn per survey depends on its length, but they are typically less than 20 minutes long and you will usually earn around $1 to $5 per survey answered. These surveys aren’t hard either – they simply want to know what you truly think!
To make the most of this type of earning opportunity, you should take surveys as much as you can and pay attention to the survey invitations you receive in your email.
2. Play games
Another way to make money on KashKick is by playing games.
The platform has partnered with different game developers and companies, allowing people like you to try new games and earn rewards for them.
The reason people get paid for playing games on KashKick is because the site partners with advertisers and businesses who are looking to promote their products or services. By playing these games, you help these advertisers reach a wider audience. In return, KashKick shares a portion of the revenue earned from these games with you. It’s a win-win situation where you get to have fun and earn a little extra money, while businesses get exposure for their ads and games.
There are many different games you can play on KashKick such as:
Monopoly GO
Yahtzee
Bingo Blitz
Scrabble Go
MGM Slots
Solitaire Smash
And so much more.
For example, here’s how you can make money playing Monopoly on KashKick: “Install (make sure to accept tracking requirements on your device!) and reach Board 27 within 8 days from the install date to get $30, reach Board 42 within 12 days for $40 more and reach Board 71 within 24 days for another $50 – for a total of $120!”
While playing games, it’s important to track your time spent and calculate your earnings potential to make sure your gaming activities are worth the effort. If you find that you’re spending too much time playing games, then it may not be worth it.
3. Reward offers
KashKick has many reward offers, such as paid offers or app installations. To see their offers, you will want to go to the offers section on the KashKick website and you can find the tasks that suit your interests and preferences.
For example, with KashKick Offers, if you register and select your unique $Cashtag, you will get $4. Or, if you link your bank account to Stash and make a qualifying deposit, you will get $50. Another offer is to sign up for an app that gives cash back at the gas station pump, and then you can earn a $15 reward.
There are currently 85 different offers available to me on KashKick, so there are lots to choose from!
Checking the featured offers regularly can really boost how much you can earn. That’s why it’s a good idea to keep an eye on this section for new chances to make money.
4. Referral bonus
KashKick has a nice referral program to encourage you to bring in new members.
When you invite friends or family to join the site, you can earn a referral bonus in the form of a percentage of their lifetime earnings. This not only helps you boost your income but also creates a way to make passive income over time because you won’t have to do anything extra to earn the 25% referral bonus.
If your friend joins using your referral link, you’ll get 25% of the money they make from doing Offers on KashKick.
You can find the referral link by clicking on the money icon in the top right corner when you are logged in. Then click on “Refer a Friend.”
Note: This bonus doesn’t apply to the money they earn from Surveys or Extra$.
5. Extra$
Extra$ are even more ways to earn cash on KashKick. These may be purchases you can make to save money, free trials, and more.
Some of the Extra$ I have available when I log in include:
Try SiriusXM for just $1 for 3 months and earn $6.54
Sign up for Paramount+, try the trial, and earn $0.60
Place your first order with Uber Eats and earn $7.00
There were over 100 of these available on my KashKick dashboard.
6. Sign up bonus
When you first sign up on KashKick, you may be eligible for a sign-up bonus. This bonus is generally offered in the form of cash that can be added to your account balance. There is not currently a KashKick sign-up bonus, but I will let you know when that changes.

Throughout your working career, you pay employment taxes that help fund Social Security, which provides income when you retire. In 2023, nearly 67 million people will receive Social Security benefits, collectively totaling more than $1 trillion.
There are strict rules about when you can claim Social Security benefits. You can start collecting retirement benefits as early as age 62, but if you can delay claiming your benefits, your monthly benefit amount can continue growing until you reach age 70.
Learn more about Social Security benefits, early retirement age, and the advantages and disadvantages of filing for your benefits early and late.
Key Points
• Social Security benefits provide income for retirees, with the amount depending on their earnings and the age at which benefits are claimed.
• The full retirement age (FRA) for Social Security benefits varies based on the year of birth.
• Benefits can be claimed as early as age 62, but the monthly amount is reduced compared to claiming at FRA.
• Delaying benefits past FRA can increase the monthly amount through delayed retirement credits, up to a certain point.
• It’s important to consider shortand long-term financial needs before deciding when to claim Social Security benefits.
What Are Social Security Benefits?
Social Security is a social insurance program created in 1935 to pay workers an income once they retired at age 65 or older. When people talk about Social Security benefits, they’re referring to a monthly payment that replaces a portion of a worker’s pre-retirement income.
The amount you receive depends on how much you earned and paid in Social Security taxes during the 35 highest-earning years of your career. Generally speaking, the higher your income, the bigger your monthly check will be — up to a point. Also important is the age at which you claim benefits. Typically, the later you receive benefits, the higher your monthly check will be.
Note that retirees aren’t the only ones who are eligible for Social Security benefits. People with qualifying disabilities, surviving spouses of workers who have died, and dependent beneficiaries may also qualify for benefits.

At What Age Can You Collect Social Security?
When the Social Security program began, the full retirement age (FRA) was 65, and that’s still what many in the U.S. think of as the average retirement age. However, as life expectancy in the U.S. has increased, the Social Security Administration (SSA) has adjusted the FRA accordingly.
The chart below illustrates FRA by year of birth.

What Is the Early Retirement Age for Social Security?
You can choose to claim retirement benefits as early as age 62. However, SSA will reduce your benefit by about 0.5% for every month you receive benefits before your FRA. For example, if your full retirement age is 67 and you file for Social Security benefits when you’re 62, you’d receive around 70% of your benefit.
On the other hand, if you wait to claim benefits after your FRA, you’ll accrue delayed retirement credits. This increases your benefit a certain percentage for every month you delay after your FRA. For example, if your full retirement age is 67 and you delay receiving benefits until age 70, you’ll get 124% of your monthly benefits. Note that the benefit increase stops when you turn 70.

Can You Claim Social Security While You’re Still Working?
When you claim your Social Security benefits, the SSA considers you retired. However, you can continue working after retirement and receiving benefits at the same time, though they may be limited.
If you’re younger than FRA for the entire year, the SSA will deduct $1 from your payment for every $2 you earn above an annual limit. In 2023, that limit is $21,240. In the year you reach full retirement age, the SSA will begin deducting $1 for every $3 you make above a different earnings limit — $56,520 in 2023.
No matter their work history, your spouse has the option to claim Social Security benefits based on your work record. That benefit can be up to 50% of your primary insurance amount, which is the benefit you’d receive at FRA. Your spouse can begin receiving spousal benefits at age 62, but they will receive a reduced benefit.
Pros and Cons of Claiming Social Security Early
The main advantage of filing for Social Security early is that you’ll have access to retirement funds sooner. This can be a boon to individuals who need extra money to get by each month. To help you maximize every last dollar, consider using a spending app to create budgets, track spending, and monitor bills.
The main disadvantage of filing early is that you may permanently reduce your monthly benefit amount. This could be a factor to keep in mind as you determine whether you’re on track for retirement.
So how do you decide when to file for your benefits? Consider your “break-even point.” This is the age at which receiving a delayed higher benefit outweighs claiming benefits earlier.
Here’s an example of how that works. Let’s say your FRA is 67 and your annual benefit is $24,000. If you claim your benefit at age 62, your benefit drops to $16,800 a year. If you delay until age 70, your benefit would be $29,760 a year.
By adding up each year’s worth of benefits and comparing them across different potential retirement ages, you find your break-even point. So in that last example, claiming your benefit at FRA breaks even with early filing at age 78. If you expect to live until this age or longer, you may consider filing for Social Security at full retirement age. Delaying until age 70 breaks even with claiming at FRA at age 82. So if you expect to live until 82 or longer, you may consider delaying your benefits.

The Takeaway
Social Security is an important source of guaranteed income during retirement and can help ensure you can cover recurring expenses like housing payments and utilities. Your monthly payment amount is determined by how much you’ve earned during your working career and the age at which you claim Social Security benefits. You’re eligible to receive your full benefits when you reach full retirement age (FRA). If you file before then, the monthly payment will be reduced. If you file later, your monthly payment can increase, up to a point. Consider your short- and long-term financial needs carefully before deciding when to claim Social Security.
Whether you’re planning to continue working past your FRA or are preparing for retirement, using a money tracker app can help you manage your overall spending and saving. The SoFi Insights app connects all of your accounts in one convenient dashboard. From there, you can see all of your balances, spending breakdowns, and credit score monitoring, plus you can get other valuable financial insights.
Stay up to date on your finances by seeing exactly how your money comes and goes.
